Hotel should be condemned .

Cannot believe this place is open for business. Disgusting and smelled musty. Bath fixture broken and lose. Back door to hotel not locked because it’s broken. Smokers sit in chair in back of hotel. Scary clientele and employees.

The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is older and a little dated, the outside could use come TLC.

You get what you pay for. Shabby and looking run down. Had to ask for a bar of soap at the front desk. Basically a bed for a night and so-so breakfast.

Extra guests....

Check in was easy, it definitely needs some TLC, breakfast was soso, after we saw a cockroach in the bathroom of our room, we choose to not eat any food there. I would have requested a new room but it was 1am when we saw it and had a 1yr back to sleep and a 2yr sleeping. I told the owner about it and he only seemed shock it was on the 2nd floor.

A little run-down. Exterior doors did not close and lock correctly. Room was clean and everything worked. Wi-fi was fast most of the time. Staff was extraordinary! I forgot my key-card twice in a row, and the manager was very gracious in taking care of my blunder.

Our room smelled musty and like mildew. Beding appeared clean but there were holes in the fitted sheet. Bathroom was not clean. There was hair and grim everywhere. I get it is a Super 8 but why can't it be clean?

Scene straight out of a horror movie!

It was horrific, bugs crawling on the bathroom floor, stains on the carpet and upholstery of chairs! Whole building smelled of curry; which is fine if you like that type of food but I found it to be nauseating

The room was awful. It smelled like very pungent cat pee. And the carpet was damp after showering and the wife using the sink. I'm allergic to cats so I went to the desk and told em and said I want my money refunded cause I can't sleep in that foul smelling room. He said he would not charge my card. We shall see.

At check in they did not have my itinerary yet I had the paperwork from Expedia. The room was adequate on the dirty side. When we went for breakfast the lock on our room door would not work. The attendant used the master key and it still didn’t work. They ended up calling someone who guided them through using a handheld computer which eventually got us in.

Unsatisfactory accommodation

I stayed here because it was convenient and less expensive than the only other hotel option in the immediate area. The bed was comfortable and clean. The condition of the room was disappointing. There were lightbulbs not working above the sink, only one of the four lamps in the room was functional, the outlets were very overused and loose, so much so that the plug to charge my phone fell out of the outlet or did not connect to power. There were wear marks on the headboard of the bed and on the walls in various places. When I went for breakfast, I found a dark room. Not very welcoming. This hotel has been in the area for a number of years and it is showing its age. As I stated, it was less expensive then the only other option in Anamosa, but it was overvalued for the quality of the accommodation.

The only nice thing I have to say about this place is I was able to have a hot shower. I checked in late (about 10pm) and the front desk person seemed very inconvenienced as they mentioned I was the last check-in and it was late and they wanted to go to bed. The room was very musty smelling and humid. The bathroom toilet rim had urin on it, the tub calking was dirty and cracked, the shower curtain wouldnt stay closed because the rod was installed incorrectly. They had exactly 2 towels for me and my boyfriend but only 1 washcloth. There were 2 bulbs burned out along the vanity. Only 2 of the 3 lamps worked and one of those lamps had a blue light bulb so it was hard to see in the room and one of the lamp shades had stains all over it. There was bubbling and peeling paint on the wall around the AC unit. In order to fluch the toilet you had to hold the handle down until after it flushed completely. I didnt trust the clenliness of the bedding or anything in the room for that matter. Our door wouldn't latch shut so we had to slam it multiple times (which obviously irritated other guests and another guest showed me a trick to close the door quietly explaining the doors dont fit right in the door jams so you had to lift up on the handle and push the top of the door in to get it to close and latch. The only reason I stayed was because the only other hotel in town was completely booked. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great employee

Olivia made my stay the nicest. She was very informative and very helpful and very nice. I don’t understand how they could let go good employees. It doesn’t make any sense. I’m planning on staying there next year but I will check the reviews to see if they keep up the same level that I had this time.
