Unfortunately we were not told ahead of time that the elevators were broken and has been since the end of August. I know it's been broken that that long because another traveler told me. Also the room on the 3rd floor, with the rocking chairs, was closed because they had to put their cleaning cart in there. I stayed in the same room that I did about 6 months ago and I couldn't believe the difference in the room. The carpet was so nasty and stained, the chair at the desk had all the vinyl peeling off, the bathroom ceiling had lots of mold, the hanging card that talks about using towels twice was stuck up in the bathroom ceiling between tiles, there had to previously been a large dog because the door separating the rooms has large scratch marks and the pillows need replaced.
We did enjoy sitting outside watching the scenery and wildlife. Since I've stayed here previously I already knew to bring cleaner and rags to clean the chairs and table outside. I'm just really shocked with the difference in this motel in a short amount of time.
I really hope that measures are taken and not just the same response that I have read in previous reviews.
If I stay here again I will definitely ask to see the room first. I'm really hoping I see an improvement because I've been coming here for at least 15+years. It just takes management making sure certain things are getting done correctly.
