Old motel style with loud parking lot of people “hanging out and talking” until 2AM. Front desk closed midnight to 9AM so no one to call except police and no one available for check out before 9 if needed. Very clean and comfortable though.

When I first walked into the office it smelled clean and looked clean. Thats was a gear sign. Front desk was very kind. I went to my room and it smelled great. Itnlolke perfect. Im happy I stayed here. It was very cheap and better than any other place. I travel a lot. This place is a gem. I stayed at a different hotel last night and you couldnt pay me to sleep at that horrible place ever again. I will stay here every time I come to Dubuque now.

This place is awful!! There was large red stains in the bottom of the tub (hoping it wasn’t blood). Couldn’t change rooms because they were booked (but we were the only car in the driveway). Several parts of the front of the building are hanging and falling off. Furniture is dirty and stained. Non smoking room smelled so much like smoke I actually got a sore throat. Bath towels the size of hand towels and so thin they barely dry. Staff extremely rude and unwilling to help. They close the office at midnight so don’t forget or lose your key, need to check in late or need any service. They are not available AT ALL until the next morning. A few restaurants within a reasonable drive. Honestly surprised Expedia does business with such a low quality place.

Every Rodeway Inn I’ve stayed in has been undesirable. The outside property is never maintained. The rooms look cheap and have dated decor. The whole place looks unloved and uncared for. Affordable sometimes means lesser quality. At this particular property my toilet handle was broken. They fixed it within minutes. However, that likely means housekeeping didn’t clean & sanitize it after the guest before me, ewww, yuck. Great location. Close to dining, retail and recreation. There is a Mexican restaurant, Dunkin, Starbucks and a sports bar within walking distance.

First entry into my room was a musky smell, next was the many several different types of hair on my bed (pet, long, short, grey, blonde and brown. None of which were mine.). I was given two of the flattest pillows ever and my towels were all stained with various specs of yellow, tan, and red-ish. The table was extremely flimsy but given the door to my room was a key that didn’t fully lock, I used to barricade my door for the night I was staying. Staff were nice as I only interacted with them for check in and check out, but this place needs to be cleaned properly! Do they even bleach clean the sheets or towels because what I saw said no!

Here’s a cleaner, laid-back traveler version that still keeps your honesty: ⸻ Oh boy… we booked this motel based on the reviews—lots of “excellent” ratings and people saying how clean it was. That wasn’t quite our experience. I will say, the woman at the front desk was great. She was kind and did her best to help us, which we really appreciated. The place itself is very bare bones—definitely more of a last-resort type of stay. In the first room, the bed had been made, but the sheets clearly hadn’t been changed. There were stains and even hair in the bed. (I always check the bed first thing, and it’s honestly surprising how often this happens.) We went back up, and she quickly moved us to another room. That one had clean sheets, but the AC/heat unit was so loud there’s no way we would’ve been able to sleep. At that point, we decided not to stay. To their credit, they gave us a refund with no hassle. Overall, I’m not trying to sound high-maintenance—it just didn’t meet basic expectations. This is definitely a place you’d only consider if you’re out of options… and even then, you might think twice.
