Excellent hostel right in the middle of the Reeperban. A little hard to find because the building is down an ally just off the street. People are incredibly friendly so ask anyone. Very near a Beatles sculpture. Hostel staff spoke multiple languages and were very friendly. Will go again.

Had a private room with bathroom, hostel is right on the Reeperbahn so it’s busy, noisy at night but hostel windows closed tight. It’s the red light district but feels safe to walk around. Great buffet breakfast worth the €.

the property was literally surrounded by strip clubs and scary drunk old men. now as much as i loved the clubbing culture around the hotel, the area felt unsafe for two 18 year old girls traveling. we were only there for one night, the hotel itself wasn’t bad and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. would only recommend if your going to germany to get laid and drink while only being a minute walk from your hotel.

Disappointing Experience at A&O Reeperbahn

After driving all day from Vienna, I arrived at A&O Reeperbahn hoping for a good night’s rest, but my experience was far from satisfactory. The first room I was assigned was a mess—the light was on, the sheets were on the floor, and a “Do Not Disturb” sign was hanging on the door. I went back to the front desk, explained the situation, and was given another room. Unfortunately, this room wasn’t any better; it was also dirty, and the window had been left open. Feeling increasingly frustrated, I returned to the desk a third time. The third room had a tissue on the floor, and the floor itself wasn’t clean, but at least the bed appeared unused. Exhausted and out of patience, I settled for this room after wasting more than 30 minutes just trying to find a usable space. This was a disappointing and stressful experience, especially after such a long journey. I expected basic cleanliness and organization, but A&O Reeperbahn fell short.

My stay

After checking in I was en route to my room and I had walked up two flights of stairs and I heard someone calling after me, I stopped as I thought I had left my passport behind by accident. The man I recognised as someone who was behind the counter when I checked in but not in any ao uniform. He was asking me my name and where I’m from because of my accent. After talking for a short time he then walked away as I had rejected his advances (I told him I am a dancer and he asked to see videos of me on stage and I said no). It made me feel extremely uncomfortable as we were not near the check in desk and he had purposely followed me from the check in desk and I had to put extra precautions on my door to wake me up incase somebody tried to enter while i was asleep. I normally feel very comfortable in Hamburg and I did not this time. There were also no towels, and it was very noisy.

Wenn man nur auf der Suche nach einer Übernachtung im Partyviertel ist und keine allzu hohen Ansprüche stellt, ist dieses Hotel vielleicht genau das Richtige – solange man Stock besoffen bleibt. Für alle anderen: Die Zimmer sind eher eine Herausforderung für die Sinne, und die Badezimmer könnten eine gründliche Renovierung gebrauchen. Für eine Nacht voller Spaß und Chaos reicht's, für mehr Komfort sollte man lieber weiterziehen!!!

Self Check in, war nicht möglich sowie bei anderen Hotelgästen. Es gab nur einen Mitarbeiter für den Check-in. Der Wein bestes gab, aber leider bei ca. 30 Personen vor uns zu lange Wartezeit. Desweiteren könnte man unsere Hotelzimmertür mit der Hand öffnen, man benötigte kein KeyCard. Wir sind dann zur Rezeption gegangen und haben dieses geschildert, leider wurde bzw wird nur Englisch gesprochen und verstanden... Man könne uns kein anderes Zimmer anbieten, wir sollten doch die Nacht in einem nicht verschließbarem Zimmer verbringen! Einen Manager war nicht vor Ort um die Situation zu klären, daraufhin haben wir leider die Polizei dazu geholt, um uns zu helfen. Die Herren, haben dann dem Herrn an der Rezeption, erklärt daß er uns doch einen Gegenstand geben möchte das wir die Zimmertür von innen verkeilen können. Es wurde alles von der Polizei aufgenommen und wurde versichert, dass wir 75€ von den 95 € erstattet bekommen. Sind mal gespannt wann....? Also ja ein Hostel etwas laut, junge Leute aber das hat nicht gestört. Sauberkeit lässt auch zu wünschen übrig, also für das Geld gibt es auf dem Kiez weit aus bessere Unterkünfte.
