Room with a view

The hotel has wonderful views of the famous Sedona red rocks. Rooms are nicely appointed and clean. Live entertainment almost daily was also a nice touch. The biggest downfall is the food. They advertise a restaurant, but it is just a bar with food. The menu is good, but the food itself is not and the wait time is exorbitant.

My husband and I visited Sedona to celebrate our wedding anniversary and selected SkyRock Sedona for our hotel. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Molly and immediately felt at home. Molly was so warm and accommodating from the jump — congratulating us on our anniversary, providing us with helpful insight / recommendations for off the beaten path experiences, and continued to add several special touches throughout our stay. Come nightfall, the desk was managed by Cali — another exceptional employee of SkyRock. A local to the area, Cali had great ideas for our next adventure and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The positive vibes didn’t stop there — from Braden + JJ at the bar to Cheryl (whom, by the way, makes THE best guac) and Cheryl throughout the facilities making sure fires were lit, pillows were fluffed, and our every need was met (no request too big or small). We reference all these exceptional individuals by name because by the end of our stay, they felt like close friends we had known long before we arrived to Sedona. This level of exceptional service complemented the stunning 360* views of the red rocks (we recommend the sunrise side) and we highly recommend this hotel for individuals, couples, and families alike looking to take in the breathtaking scenery. It was a really nice stay. A bit outside of Sedona city but thats just a plus. Breakfast could have been better, it was a bit of a "Motel vibe" over the breakfast. The bar and its food was super! super nice staff. Pricey but thats how it is nowdays.

The view from the property was beautiful, but unfortunately, that’s where the positive aspects ended. The breakfast was mediocre at best, with a rating of 3/5. The sausage was rubbery, and the bacon seemed like an imitation product. Upon check-in, I was not acknowledged and then eventually instructed to wait while the woman behind the counter finished her phone call. Afterward, she proceeded to take another call right in front of me, forcing me to wait uncomfortably for about five minutes. I eventually stepped outside to get my spouse, as the situation was becoming awkward. When we entered the room we were assigned, we were immediately hit with a foul smell, almost as if someone had just used the bathroom. I had to call the front desk and request that the maid come back in and spray the bathroom. The woman on the line explained that it may be the plumbing at the property . To make matters worse, there were no nighttime events or activities, which left us feeling disappointed and unengaged during our stay. The room itself was decent, but certainly not worth the price I was charged. Given the rude behavior from the front desk staff, the unpleasant odor in the room, and the lack of any entertainment or activities, I can confidently say that I will never book here again.

When booking the room I paid the additional fee $85 to upgrade to a red rock view. Upon arrival I was informed I was upgraded to the top floor in lieu of a view. We had to walk outside and around the corner for a view. This is not what I paid for nor did I care about what floor I was on. I wanted the view but was told it wasn’t available. When I asked for a refund for the additional fee I was told they have a no refund or cancellation policy. I called and spoke with management after my stay to recover the upgrade fee and again was told there is nothing they could do. I would not stay at this property again due to the fact that property has no integrity and will not honor your reservation. I was not asking for a full refund, I was asking for a refund for the additional fee I paid for a view I did not receive. Lastly, it was my husband’s birthday and I knew we would arrive late, my intention was him to wake up to the red rock view since it was his first time visiting Sedona. Very disappointing and not an organization I would do business with in the future.

Sky Rock Sedona is relaxing, clean, beautifully decorated, conveniently located, and a great value for your money. The service is impeccable. Shout out to Rita from the front desk who, along with her coworkers, really goes above and beyond for the guests to ensure they have the best vacation. The morning medication, live music in the evenings, and events like star gazing really make this such a magical place to stay.

Never again

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. Never again! The room and the entire complex are dingy and leave much to be desired. The value for money was, quite simply, a disgrace. The breakfast buffet offers just the bare essentials, and when it's empty, it takes forever to refill. For us, the hotel was a complete disappointment.
