As a person with allergies, I specifically chose this hotel because it clearly said *Service dogs only*.. Upon checking in and walking towards my room - A Dog in the hallway - no leash, no service tags, no vest ! This guest continued coming in and out of the room with the dog- never leashed. The dog, was friendly but that is not the point and (no fault of its own) was running up to everyone it saw. Management did not say anything to the guest/owner of the dog. Maybe this is not required in Connecticut.

I stayed for 10 days. The pros: decent breakfast, rate was good especially for the area, it’s clean. Cons: the staff. My biggest complaint though is the staff. One night the people were loud, I also happened to be stomach sick and the people were mocking me. I complained about it briefly that night but was heading out to my overnight shift for work. In the morning I was telling morning staff about it and making sure same people weren’t gonna be there this was the response I got- “well I had a bad night too my car got hit while it was parked” listen if you can’t do your job cause of your personal life then call in sick. It is a customer based industry in the hotel world. I later mentioned this to who I thought was the manager and I was simply told we will speak to the person. I saw that employee later and I can assure that he was not spoken to. I would hope of not for the rude neighbors at least but more their employee they would want to do something for me whether it be a half night off, I mean anything really. Staff only seem to want to do minimal work. I had already been there 5 days at that point. Overall it’s 50/50 I’d go back.

Check in process was ok, although I seemed to have interrupted him around the back. Room was clean, plenty of towels and a bonus heat lamp in the bathroom. Struggled to find plugs to charge our cell phones but after unplugging the alarm clock we were fine.

A friend of mine were doing a girls weekend in NYC. Stopped here to spend the night. The guy at the front desk was less than friendly, but our room was lovely! No carpet, spacious, and warm. We went to sleep and got up the next morning went down and had breakfast it was great! The waffles were amazing! We went back to the room to shower up and no hot water. I let it run for a good 10 minutes to see if it would warm up. I got nothing. I called down to the front desk the guy at the front desk was incredibly rude! He mumbled “oh Christ” on the phone and then was sighing as I was talking. His solution was “I don’t have anyone to come fix it, but the people next to you just checked out, you can use their room” I continued to ask is it cleaned and he said “no, I can’t give you a clean room because then the house keepers will have to re-clean the room” (isn’t that their jobs?) I said that was totally unacceptable and I wanted to speak to a manager. Well he was the only one there and the manager was on vacation. Needless to say, it went nowhere. I was less than impressed and thought the solution was unacceptable. I was not showering in a strangers used shower. Less than impressed and this is the only reason for a low rating.

Very disappointed with this hotel, I was there for 9 days, they don’t clean your room, that’s fine but I asked for fresh towels twice and did not receive them. I asked for coffee for the room did not get any. The staff were very rud, especially the morning worker. I did speak with one staff member that was very nice. The other two staff members that I saw every morning and evening were horrible to deal with. I called down to the front desk and was hung up on. They don’t wear uniforms, the morning staff, the worst person I’ve had to deal with, had his music playing on his phone, would not answer any questions and constantly started in an aggressive way. I spoke with other people staying there and they all had similar experiences with him. Overall my worst experience at a Best Western. Unfortunately other hotels near by were all booked up otherwise I would have switched hotels.
