I reserved an ocean view room through Hotels.com, and during the booking process I was offered a paid upgrade to a master room that was advertised with a Roman-style bathtub, which was the main reason I agreed to pay an additional $400. However, upon arrival, the room I received did not have a bathtub at all. When I raised this issue with the hotel, I was told that the photographs shown online were not accurate, and they insisted I was in the correct upgraded room. This left me paying an extra $400 for a feature that did not exist. When I requested a proper correction, I was offered an alternative room, but the condition of that room was unacceptable and far below expectations. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, as I feel I was misled by inaccurate advertising and did not receive the upgraded experience I paid for.
