The hotel is dated but very well maintained and clean. Staff are all helpful and friendly. Lovely large room and comfortable beds. Handy fridge in the room, 2 free bottles of water and a kettle with tea/coffee etc - all fine. Just two issues I would mention: 1. It's annoying to only have one key to the room, the doors still have old fashioned key locks and large hotel keyrings.It may be quaint but it's inconvenient! 2. The hotel has the usual 'save the planet' message in the bathroom. We're very conscious of not wasting towels but there were no hooks or rails to hang damp towels! it was either the wet shower panel, or hang them up on the clothes rail in the bedroom, which we did. Maybe our room (217) was temporarily missing it's towel rail/door hooks, but it was frustrating not to be able to hang up any towels at all in the bathroom. There wasn't even a small rail for a hand towel.

Very old hotel, tv didnt work and food qas ok. Nice breakfast and very friendly staff. Breakfast only starts at 7.30 which is very when on a business trip and restaurant closes a little too early at 8.30pm. Good location.
