A shining armor with a few kinks in it

Lovely place and decent location, if a little trafficey. Great rooms, great cleaning, comfortable bed. Nice spa too! Solid breakfast buffet! Concierge was funny and helpful but a LITTLE too pushy with her own suggestions. We felt a little pressured to take her advice, to be honest. The hotel's bar was horrible. Had what was possibly the worst drink made by what seemed like an untrained teenager who, in his defense, was very friendly, though. Everything behind the counter was a mess. Squeezed fruit, empty, knocked over juice cartons and splashes of liquid everywhere. Despite these hiccups with what I personally don't deem essentials I would stay here again.

The hotel is very close to Prague Castle and within walking distance to the old part of Prague but still outside the bustling part of the city. Tram stop and subway station only 2 minutes away.

The steam room and spa treatment were a pretty unique expierence. Hotel style is very 'oldie worldie' and room was a generous size. However, I wouldn't rate this hotel a five star but more of a tired four star at a push. The breakfast was a bit underwhelming for a five star as we've had better onesat four star hotels.

On arrival the check in was fine and as expected, then we were taken aside for a sales pitch of excursions and private tours. This felt like hard sale, made us feel uncomfortable. Facilities: they do have a spa, and the massage I had was really great so cannot fault them there. The room was spacious and clean, furniture and bathroom tired looking. The breakfast was ok, just average continental, no menu for cooked options, which is very unusual for a 5* establishment. Cleaning ladies are lovely, everything was clean. The bar service was a huge disappointment, my husband tried their beer which he found substandard. I requested a Mojito, which was no more than watered down rum - never had a Mojito this bad. I just abandoned it after the first sip. The most unpleasant part was our departure, when we requested a taxi at reception, but they refused to call one, as they had their own taxi service (as they called it). In reality it consisted of a van. 5* hotels often have limousine service, but never in my experience do they refuse to call you a taxi in order to try and force you into using it. Well these people do. All in all an OK stay. The hotel is 4* at best. The service is no more then 3.

The staff was amazing. It is like a B&B environment with the amenities of a full hotel. They are kind, attentive, and had great suggestions of places to go and tours to take. The hotel is a great, quiet location just outside of town (10-15 minute walk max from most locations or a 5-10 euro Uber ride if you can't do all the walking). Highly recommended. If I visit Prague again I'll definitely look to stay here again!

The glass door of the shower was somehow leaking which made the floor wet. We almost slipped for a few times. Otherwise the experience was perfect. Friendly staff. Really close to the Prague Castle and underground railway and tram station.

Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. BUT for a 5* hotel I was disappointed. Bedroom carpet was filthy. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work. The bathroom sink didn't retain water as the plug didn't work. When shaving had to waste water as ran tap continuously. Some road noise. Television didn't have satellite channels, even though it was advertised. Television was only connected to a television aerial. You couldn't change the setting on the television to play in original language which you can on all televisions. Although the beds were made etc. the carpet was never hoovered.

We stayed from Dec 28-31/24. When we arrived there was no king bed rooms available that we had booked & paid for. We were given a temporary room from the front desk staff. As a note, the front desk staff was very nice & polite. Obviously this wasn’t ideal. They comped our dinner/drinks (which was terrible), free of charge to offset the error & the next day transfer our luggage to the paid for room. On the 2nd & 3rd nite we had the room we paid for, a king suite. It was nice but there was no shower in the bathroom! So it was rather awkward taking a shower. The breakfast buffet was terrible & very limited. The exact same items each morning. I don’t recall the buffet costs but it was fairly high but certainly NOT worth the extra costs.
