Arriving from a spectacular 5-star stay in Madrid, I admit my expectations were sky-high—and the Grand Hyatt Barcelona, while beautiful, didn’t quite match that lofty benchmark.
On the plus side, the hotel absolutely dazzles. With grand, Art Deco–inspired décor and top‑floor restaurants, it delivers on the luxury vibe.
But the true standout was the Oasis Spa by Natura Bissé—an incredible wellness oasis with a waterfall pool, private cabins, steam room, sauna and impeccable treatments. It was easily the best spa experience I’ve ever had!
That said, our room’s shower was frustrating: every time we showered, water leaked into the bedroom and we spent time cleaning it up—leaving wet towels scattered on the floor.
Service around the property felt merely “okay.” Front‑desk and concierge interactions were functional but lacked warmth, and a few moments came across as inattentive—far below what one hopes for at this level.
Bottom line: Grand Hyatt Barcelona is undeniably elegant, especially if your trip is about indulgence—spa time alone justifies a stay. Ultimately, 4.5 stars and has potential to be 5 stars with better customer service.
