Tub blob, strong Chemical smell in room & hallway

No one at the desk for 20 min when we went to check in , even though Libby was packed. Room had a terrible chemical odor that we had to prob the door and window wide open for 1-2 hours to get it to dissipate. Window had no screen, no stoppers so and fully opened and had a bench sitting right in front of it where child or elderly could fall out. Blob in the tub that we had to call the desk about they came and made the excuse the maintenance was there repairing porcelain. The blob was maybe from maintenance accidentally blobbing the tub and maybe the source of the smell as well.

The property was under construction during my stay. Front lobby was messy and taped-off. Staff were friendly and effective. My room was large, very clean and comfortable. Kitchenette in room is very basic, not equipped with any plates, cutlery or microwave cover for food. Due to construction, the included breakfast was super limited to cold / frozen foods which needs to be microwaved. I think they can do a better job with the offerings during construction. I went out for coffee/tea and breakfast. Area is very close to many plazas with food and shopping options.
