Breakfast was ok every day except Saturday which is market day and many people came in from outside for breakfast when us and many other guests arrived there was very little food available. This was remedied after many guests complaining to management, but waiting 25 minutes for eggs, milk, Orange juice, fresh bread and for a cup of coffee is unacceptable in a hotel of this standard. Basically, there was not enough kitchen and waiting staff to cope with this sudden influx of people from outside. However, the Market is every Saturday so this problem should have been forseen. On the two final days of our stay an extra member of the kitchen team was added and things returned to normal. Although they took the brunt of the complaints the waiting staff were always polite and helpful. This was a management problem However this was a small problem and did not deter us from enjoying our stay. We would book this hotel again!

Rooms were clean but dated - chips and scuffs on furnishings, chipped toilet seat, no amenities in room apart from shampoo and shower gel - and 2 free cartons of water . Corridors were basic, did not have the feel of a 4 star hotel.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in The Port Salins hotel! A warm welcome at reception, a lovely room with a spacious balcony overlooking the canal, and in a very central location. Although we never used it, the pool looked so inviting. Our evening sitting on the balcony was relaxing and most enjoyable - a highlight of our stay!! The bed was very comfortable and a good nights sleep was a godsend. We would describe the shower as “the best ever”. There was plenty of variety for breakfast, I only wish I’d spotted the tables set out by the pool sooner as that environment would have enhanced our experience. We would highly recommend this lovely hotel and would love to return.

We only stayed one night so this is based on that short stay. Location is prime for this hotel. It is only a block or so from the beach with restaurants and a long promenade. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool, canal and marina. Parking is readily available right outside the hotel door. The staff at the front desk spoke English so communication was easy.
