This place is very nice and clean. The rooftop pool is great. Just as others commented, there are codes to remember and the pull out couch is not meant to be slept on. It’s all springs. I booked a place that is supposed to sleep four. I put my two kids on the floor on mats. The sleeper sofa is terrible. The apartment is really nice.

Clean, Spacious, Be prepared for instructions!

This place is probably better if you want to stay more than one night and are here for leisure. There is no concierge or front desk so all parking, entry and access are done through a series of very detailed instructions. Since I was here for a work trip, I didn't have the bandwidth to deal with this- I was swayed by the price and the inclusion of a balcony but didn't use it due to my incredibly short stay (less than 12 hours!). However the place is very clean and spacious. It felt good to have my car parked in a secure area. The rooms and the flow of the space was nice. I would recommend if you're staying here for longer or if you REALLY don't want to interact with anyone, but I am just more used to a traditional hotel setting and appreciate that after what I just went through.

One-bedroom apartment next to Santa Clara Uni

When I booked this apartment, it was advertised as a hotel with a virtual front desk. It is NOT a hotel. It is a private apartment complex with dogs, piano teachers, and young people living life. If you need help with something, good luck. Our coffee maker didn't function. The Kasa chatbot told me to fill out an online form. I did and never received a follow-up. The Good: The apartment was spotless, quiet, and within walking distance of SCU and a few nice restaurants. There is public EV charging in the Retail parking spaces for $0.25/kWH. Charging is free in the SCU garage if you are visiting there. There is a gorgeous rooftop pool with two lap lanes plus a hot tub and loads of space to gather. The linens were soft. The Bad: The king bed was squeaky - don't sneeze or roll over if you plan to sleep through the night. Accessing the building was complicated (for good reason - they need to protect tenants). But be warned, if you are tired after a long day of travel or not tech-savvy, it can be difficult to get into the building. There is a 7-digit code that must be entered quickly - either have it memorized or have someone read it to you as you enter it, or it will time out. You will have another 4-digit code to access your apartment. After you get in, there is a key card for the elevator and exterior doors. It works well. There is also an app, but it's spotty, so a second card would be better.

Clean and pretty unit. The check-in process and getting the car inside the gate was a little confusing. Once we figured out the process and got the badges inside the unit, everything was fine. Nice furniture and bed. A few more forks, spoons, knives and plates would have been helpful, too as we cooked all meals at home. Will definitely stay again!

Hotels.com has a _horrible_ interface with kasa-university and their customer experience is not good. It took me an hour to check in, standing outside in the dark because this is an apartment complex not a hotel. Never got the check in procedure email because hotels.com didn't properly fwd it to me. 25 minutes in a chat room with a bot and maybe a person and their solution was to have me call kasa-university myself. Kasa-university folks were fine, check in process took time because I was doing it outside in the dark, room was nice and as advertised. Great value. I'll just book directly through them next time.

Did not feel safe getting to the room which required using mostly deserted parking lot levels to access the room. Door does not have a latch or deadbolt that can be locked from inside the room like typical hotel rooms do.

Spacious unit. Newer building with nice amenities and secure parking. Building was quiet and peaceful, even though it is adjacent to a university. We enjoyed the space and the location. The unit is modern inside and nicely furnished We appreciated the detailed check in instructions. The only minor negative is that the unit could use a thorough deep cleaning and some touch up paint in the bedroom. Faux plants , light fixtures, interior of medicine cabinet and the shower caddies/curtain could use cleaning for dust, soap scum, etc. these issues are all typical for a rental and should not deter anyone from considering a stay with Kasa.
