2 night stopover when driving through area

Good central location easy to walk to main attractions in old town. Thankfully had Google Maps for finding way into hotel as would have been much harder without that. Staff all very pleasant. We didn't eat in hotel on both nights stay as was fully booked on arrival. (We chose not to pre-book until we saw menu and location) Restaurant looked a bit lacking in atmosphere as seemed more of a business hotel. Bar area hard to define and not a particularly pleasant seating arrangement. However some of that due to the need to preserve the original architecture which is impressive. Rooms and bathrooms very pleasant and good lots of space and facilities

Modern hotel in a historic building next the central plaza and park in historic Metz. Our room was spacious with a comfortable king bed, separate water closet, and a shower and soaking tub. The location made for easy touring of the old town including the cathedral and museums. The staff was friendly, and provided great support. We made use of the free bicycles one afternoon. We did not use the morning breakfast at 20 euros, taking the time to eat around town. We did eat in the restaurant one night and had an excellent experience.
