We stayed at Kona Kai upon arrival in the Keys and as a mid stop on the way from Key West to Miami. It is a respite from the busyness elsewhere. The beach is peaceful, sunsets splendid and a little oasis. Katherine and her team make sure the property is well maintained and her food recs are perfect. We will compare all of our other stays to the one here. The rooms feel like mini apartments with lots of privacy. Will absolutely return.

Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Complimentary paddle board and Kajaks. Lots of small areas to hang out during the day close by the water. Unfortunately there was little to no lighting in the evening which made it had to walk down the stairs or find a place to sit to enjoy the outside. We had to use our flashlights on our phones to not trip over lounge chairs. We wanted to check it out this property as it had great reviews but it wasn’t for us. It is a little older and needs a few upgrades/refreshers to bring it up to todays standards and some adjustments to walk ways, docks, bathrooms and pool area.
