We had a wonderful stay in Blockley. The hosts were gracious and helpful and the food in the dining room was superb. I highly recommend the location for its charm, hospitality and historic significance.

Arrived on curry night, which was delicious. Breakfast not great (Nescafé masquerading as filter coffee) under cooked bacon, over cooked egg. Staff are friendly and helpful. The whole place has something of the 1970s about it, the bed was not that comfortable and the headboard was not properly attached so that if you turn over in bed it bangs against the wall, giving the neighbours the impression that Ron Jeremy is on an all-nighter. Such a beautiful village. I’d say it’s good value, but could be so much better.

It is an incredible stay. Blockley is an amazing walking town. The Crown is clean and affordable. The best part is the staff! Amazing and extremely professional. Breakfast was amazing! Great place for dinner and a pub. The stories the local tell are a lot of fun! And Father Browns church to boot!

Nice little hotel in the quiet village without trouists. People are very mince as well as the staff. A lots of birds are singing in the morning like camping site. The building is old so walk softly. If living in the top floor, it shouldn't be a problem.

The service was good. The food was good. The room however, was substandard. The carpet was very lumpy, as if there was no subfloor or underlayment flooring; and the carpet was directly on top of cobblestone. There were four steps up to the bath and tey were uneven rise and run making nighttime navigation risky. The towels had large holes in them. the room was not serviced and when I asked, they said every other day unless requested. How would I know? There’s supposed to be a sign; there wasn’t. The hot water faucet leaked when used, all over the floor. I should never have accepted this room!! Especially when I saw other rooms. We were two women and I really felt we got the short end of the stick!

This hotel is excellent value for money especially considering the beautiful area it is in. It’s a bit tired in places and the rooms could do with some updating….but the price reflects this. However, it was spotlessly clean. The breakfast offered was good quality and plentiful. Evening menu was excellent and superbly cooked. Staff were brilliant….courteous, friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay here again.

Love our stay at The Crown, its set in a beautiful village. Its an ancient building, loved the quirkiness & all the different steps & levels. The staff were friendly & efficient. The room clean & appreciated the tea, coffee & biscuits. Breakfast was busy but tasty food. Will definitely stay again.
