Rooms on house share a bathroom. Area has solar electrical so they restrict usage after dark as they do not store it well. Just know what you will be getting

8/10 Very good

Guesthouse was very much as shown: community spaces for bathrooms and cooking etc. and the location was great, very close to Akaka Falls yet outside of town enough to enjoy slowing down. Found great shaved ice at the Aloha General Store. We stayed in the king bed room, which was clean and mostly comfortable, but gets baked in the sun from sunrise. The room was very hot and could use a ceiling fan, the small one provided barely worked to cool the large room… and having the windows open meant listening to the neighbors dog bark incessantly.

The real Hawaii vacation

I in the place where I don’t feel like I am a tourist but living among locals yes it not what many hotels will offer but you are one with the natural and the real beauty of Hawaii, taking a shower in the open bathroom is the best thing I experienced and yes it has a privacy and comfort of of taking a bath with out worrying anything just enjoy the view of Hawaii 360 degrees

Very secluded, and has most of what you need. The rooms are a bit old and not as clean. Amenities are great though! There's a personal waterfall you can go to.

Awesome experience! Aaron and Huston were more then accommodating! The site is beautiful and met some awesome people. The swim pool and waterfall are gorgeous and the ultimate Hawaii experience. Thank you,!

Beautiful place. The manager (owners?) were never around, and it would have been nice to get some local perspective on things. Noisy guests with big feet also problematic!

6/10 Good

The price was right, but this is not what we expected when we booked. I appreciate the attempt at eco-friendliness, and we support that, but overall our visit was disappointing. The photos on Hotels.com definitely DID NOT match the room. I'm not sure how any of the rooms could have had an ocean view - we certainly didn't get one. We booked a room with a king and got a queen at best, maybe even a double. Zero view, but we didn't really care about that. There are 2 communal bathrooms, but one toilet was clogged when we got there and still clogged when we left. And the rules ... man, there are a lot of rules. Closing the kitchen for 11 hours (including refrigerator access) is pretty crazy. We were laughing at some of the other ones because they were so ridiculous. The cabanas might be nice for glamping (they looked cute), and we might try one of those at a decent price. But otherwise ... we were ready to move on as soon as we could.

Eco-friendly

Eco-friendly experience with a few bumps. Only received 5 breakfast tickets, should have got 6 to Mr. Ed's bakery, which was a great place.
Falls were close by.

Beautiful setting

We enjoyed our stay and it was very comfortable. We had a king room. No A/C but windows to open for breeze. I was happy I packed a very small portable fan which really helped when it rained but it was still warm. We had to close the windows to keep the rain out. Snacks left in the room were nice and the kitchen was well stocked. Thank you!

Unique location; beware bathroom access

This was a unique experience and setting. The listing should make clear that not only is there a shared bathroom but access to it requires going down a stairwell For those of us who need that access at night, not easy.

4/10 Fair

It is located in a remote area with really bad road leading to the place. The room is really small and smells with shared bathrooms outside for all tenants. We arrived at night with no electricity in the building. The breakfast place is decent though but you have to drive there.

The road to guesthouse had several pot holes so very hard to drive especially at night Steep narrow stairs to room and loft. Carrying luggage up stairs was hard Small living and kitchen space and shared washroom with several guests
