Property is beautiful as you drive in and enter the resort. There are several pools to use. We opted in for the adult’s side and that had the smallest and worst pool. No swim up bar and no one walking around offering drinks. If you were a member there was a small separate pool and staff was catering to them. There were food options around the pool areas but it was an open air buffet so the food was open to all the elements and bugs and what not floating around, not even covered.The rooms were old and we had zero water pressure in the shower, I mean it was a literal trickle. Food was not mediocre. We stayed at the Sandos in Cabo and it was a completely different experience. We ended up leaving this resort and booking else where.

We stayed at this resort for the first time in 2019 and knew we would be back again. What we didn't know then was that we would decide to marry there. The wedding was amazing. There were surprises, but overall the staff was great and all of our guests had an amazing time. Most of our guests had not been to Playa del Carmen before, but their stay at this hotel confirmed they will be back! We will be back again soon!!

Property fantastic! Room maintenance over the years has been a bit sloppy but the room was very clean with a fantastic view. Dining was fantastic as well and it's hard to imagine a more beautiful beach. Staff was very accommodating and friendly and while seemed very appreciative of tips did not treat us any differenly on occasions that we forgot to bring cash for tip. Drinks were fantastic as well. The only real negatives were non working elevators for the duration of our syay in our building(2000 building) and smoking outside of the designated smoking areas was not enforced at all including the resort owned beach area. Being as we are both very sensitive to the smell and the dirtiness of using the sand as an ashtray this was upsetting.

We had a great time there. The property is large and not crowded, very well maintained, beautifully landscaped. We stayed in adults only area. It is very close to beach. Every room has a balcony or a patio. Beach area is not crowded. The family area with kids's waterpark is at the other side of the resort's beach.We did not go to restaurants even though the reservations were available. We were very happy with selection of food in buffet. And for the New year celebration they had a feast there.Perfect! thank you so much to the all hard working people of this resort.

This property caters only to their Royal Elite timeshare owners. Reservations for dinner are not open to all members, so the buffet is your only option unless you leave the property. The pools are small and dirty. We were highly disappointed in this property. If you are not a Royal Elite member, expect to be entirely disregarded by the staff.

The good: the beach is one of the best in this side of Mexico. Staff are great. Wildlife all over. Great coffee bar and taco shop. Lush grounds. The bad: all adult side rooms have a shared interior door with neighbour. Can hear all coughs, conversations, tv, and things left to your imagination. A/C is old and weak. Loud as heck too. Asked for a quiet room for 40th anniversary. Got a patio at the main garbage. Literally on the same level no break, walk out to the garbage. When we were funneled to the reception 'not time share' desk we were told we were upgraded. Literally a normal standard room, why lie? The terrible: 3 of the 4 of us got food poisoning. We have lived in Africa and Asia, been all over Mexico. We don't have weak stomachs. One person twice. A wedding party with 60 people, 40 the same. I think it was the water jug water or the main buffet. People kept coming to reception complaining about being sick.
