It was a pretty good experience, Sandos is a very good hotel with an incredible Buffet, lots of nature and animais around the hotel, but not risking or bothering.

To describe this hotel as adults only is a bit misleading. Apart from breakfast in one buffet and one area on the beach, the rest of the hotel is full of kids.
The room we were given (room 2212) was probably the worst in the hotel. I think it was supposed to be either a pool or garden view but what we got was the view of the back of the toilets by the pool.
All of the other rooms had either a balcony or veranda but our room had neither, just a small triangular patch of soil right by the entrance to the block, see photo.
To allocate such a room we took as an insult.
There was no fridge and the water dispenser was a cooler that had been disabled, supposedly because it is more environmentally friendly, but more probably because it is cheaper.
2 days were wasted with multiple trips to the lobby before we were moved to an acceptable room. This one had a fridge so mixed messages on the ecological issue.
Although there was wifi throughout the hotel, there was none in our room only a sketchy connection on the balcony.
The staff kept leaving messages on our door saying we had to report to the lobby because of something urgent.
They even called the room (while I was in the bathroom)
So finally we trudged over to the lobby yet again only to find that they wanted to try and sell us the 'vacation club'
ABSOLUTELY NOT AN URGENT MESSAGE.
Plus when we checked in I had already stated that it is something we are not interested in.

The Select club concierge service staff was extremely helpful, polite and informative. Giving our thaks and gratitude to Zyanya, MaJo and Eyther. We did not liked the specific location in the room assigned to us at arrival and they stepped in. We got upgrated as Expedia VIP members to Ocean view room anx very grateful for that. Their attention to details on daily basis was amazing. Also all personal of the Sandos hotel is polite and always friendly. The territory of the hotel is beautiful and of course the Caribbean Sea and the beach are amazing. The waters are crystal clear with smooth white sand. We will be vack again.

The ocean front rooms are great! Beautiful views. However, the mirror in the bathroom should be updated. Safe did not work, no one answered the phone when we called room service. Food was just ok. The beach is really great! Wide with lots of chairs and swimmable water. Great customer service! All in all, this hotel is nice, needs some updates but overall very pleasant stay.

All the staff were friendly. We've been there at least 10 times and noticed an improvement in staff. Our conceriege Samantha was especially helpful. She made reservations for all the restaurants when we checked in. She texted us during our stay to make certain all was good.

The resort was beautiful and we really enjoyed the all inclusive food and bev. There were a couple things broken in our room that never got addressed after letting staff know twice and we had a medical emergency that could have been handled better as well.

Property is beautiful as you drive in and enter the resort. There are several pools to use. We opted in for the adult’s side and that had the smallest and worst pool. No swim up bar and no one walking around offering drinks. If you were a member there was a small separate pool and staff was catering to them. There were food options around the pool areas but it was an open air buffet so the food was open to all the elements and bugs and what not floating around, not even covered.The rooms were old and we had zero water pressure in the shower, I mean it was a literal trickle. Food was not mediocre. We stayed at the Sandos in Cabo and it was a completely different experience.
We ended up leaving this resort and booking else where.

I love Sandos Playacar. This was our second trip here and both times have been great. The food is fantastic, the staff is cheerful and helpful. Everything was perfect. The level of effort and care the staff put into the reslrt is genuinely astonishing. 10/10.

I hated that we were in adult only and there were SO MANY KIDS. I feel that they need to section areas in the buffet for adult only. The a la carte restaurants should either have adult only times or ones for adults only. When you book adults you should get it. The smell/perfume In the resort lobby needs to be toned way down. You get a headache as soon as you walk in. The check in checkout was difficult. Lined up for checkout because we were in a transport time frame only to be told that they were checking people in ( nobody available to check out) the spa people walking around were too aggressive. Counted in one day I got asked ten different times if I wanted a massage.
I would not rush back.

Segunda ves ke la visito , y ha cambiado un poco, no me parece correcto ke cobren por usar el sauna teniendo todo incluido entiendo ke hay huéspedes ke son privilegiados al tener la membresía, otra de las cosas las reservaciones a los restaurantes ya ke tratas de hacer una reservación y generalmente no tienen lugares incluso tratando de reservar con dos días de anticipación, hace 5 años ke fui por primera vez y todo trabajaba mucho mejor, aun así volvería otras veses

When we arrived on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, the staff neglected to tell us that the Grand Buffet was closed. We found out the next day that it was due to at least 50 people who got sick from Canada there for a wedding. You can look this up in the Playa del Carmen News. We were as well as everyone else, without water in our shower, sink, and toilet for the whole weekend and no communication from staff as to why. The Grand Buffet did not reopen until Tuesday evening but we were afraid to eat there so went off the property to eat. Our mini fridge was never restocked and this was after 6-7 phone calls a day to guest services. The elevator in our building was out of order. The service outside was terrible . We sat by the pool for 5 hours one day and the waitress came to take our order once. They were not telling new people registering that the water was not working and the Grand Buffet was closed. We have tried to get a partial refund but have had no luck. We will never go back.
