Wonderful location, perfectly equipped. Only problem was check in and having to deal with the police and threat of a ticket while we were unloading our car. All could have been avoided if hotel would have asked and recorded our plate number in advance. Dealing with that for a half hour caused us to miss a proper reunion with our daughter; a student in Salamanca.

We LOVED our stay. The balcony of our room opened to the Plaza Mayor. We enjoyed the sights at night of the beautifully illuminated buildings. There was a concert each night of our stay that we could enjoy just by opening our balcony doors. The sound was muffled if we wanted more quiet. The staff of El Mirador were VERY responsive to our questions and requests. There was a washing machine but no dryer. The staff provided a drying rack so we could hang our clothes to dry. The room was wonderfully located in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. We SO enjoyed this hotel!

Newly renovated apartment in heart of Salamanca

Right at the Plaza mayor, this spacious apartment fulfilled all my needs during a business trip. The building is fully renovated, equipped with an elevator. Some minor elements were missing, such as a hanger for coats by the entrance, hanger for towels etc.

First the pros: It’s a lovely, newly renovated property, and our room had a gorgeous view of the Plaza Mayor. The building and room were charming, clean, and comfortable. The cons: A very big one for us was that the WiFi is weak and spotty. It was difficult to look up information about Salamanca sights online or even do email without interruptions and long waits. One of us had a zoom convo scheduled and had to go to the owners’ other property to use the WiFi there. The other downside is that this is not a hotel and there is no front desk, but there also is no access code to enter and no pre-pay option through Expedia. We received a message about an hour before check-in time (which is late, 4 pm) saying we should go to pick up the keys and pay at a hotel several blocks away. We were already at the property and asked that someone come and meet us there, which they did. The staff was pleasant and making the best of the situation. In sum: stunning view, truly lovely property, but substandard WiFi and inconvenient check-in.

Un appartement admirablement rénové dans un bâtiment historique tout aussi joliment entretenu, et qui donne sur la très belle plaza mayor de Salmanque. Bien équipé, spacieux. Un accès direct à la zone historique. Si vous venez en voiture immatriculée à l’étranger, signalez-le car l’établissement est dans la partie interdite à la circulation.

Salamanca, es un poema.

Aunque llegué tarde a Salamanca debido a retrasos en el tren, el personal de El Mirador del Poeta me atendió muy amablemente por teléfono, incluso fuera del horario de check-in. Los departamentos están separados del complejo principal, pero son muy bonitos y están completamente nuevos y equipados. Un punto a favor es que cuentan con una lavadora, lo cual nos fue muy útil para lavar la ropa que ya traíamos. La ubicación es inmejorable, en el corazón de Salamanca. Aunque no teníamos vista directa a la Plaza Mayor, la ventana daba a las cúpulas de la catedral y otros edificios históricos. Todo lo importante queda a poca distancia a pie. En resumen, recomiendo ampliamente este lugar. La gente es muy amable y servicial, y los apartamentos son modernos y cómodos.

Pésima experiencia! Han invertido en restaurar el edificio pero dentro de la instalación no han tenido en cuenta los aspectos más básicos como la cama. Hemos despertado con un horrible dolor de espalda y no hemos dormido nada. El colchón es una S y el bastidor de la cama está hundido. Además las toallas son sintéticas y no secan nada. El mueble de la cocina no le han prestado atención a que la cafetea no tiene el ángulo para abrir y hay que sacarla hacia afuera con riesgo de que se caiga al suelo. Ha sido una experiencia pésima con cero descanso. Recomiendo buscar otras alternativas de alojamiento!
