Comfortable but outdated

Clearly a lovely building, but most of the rooms are in a separate part of the grounds. The whole thing is quite tacky and really doesn't scream luxury -- the "spa" is much more like a leisure centre. The room was spacious and comfortable, though clearly old-fashioned, and not entirely clean. The service was totally obstinate when we requested a change of dates, but quick to help when we were there. The hotel feels like it could be good for families with young children, but it is unmistakably a resort hotel, not a luxury one.

We had a fantastic stay. Excellent friendly staff who ensured we had all the information we needed and knew where to go. The studio was so lovely and well set up! Booked through hotels.com 2 months prior to stay, no where was it advertised that there would be no food available or even a bar open during our stay. There is no where that is walkable from the property either. Was told that frozen meals are available in hotel pantry/shop! Found the staff to be quite rude, despite calling ahead and being assured room would be available for our slightly early arrival (45 mins before 4pm check in) was
