It was perfect!
Jamie, 1-night trip

The breakfast is not what I would have expected from an Inn. Self serve. Rooms and bathroom are small. Its located next to a cemetery. Staff not super friendly or helpful. Stayed at 3 Inn’s during our 7 day trip around the area. We felt the other two were more in line with our desires.

It had a rustic feel. Staff was helpful. The hill on the driveway on a snowy day was tricky. The pub was awesome.

Love the way they kept the old post and beam look very quiet
Joseph, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The main building has rooms attached to it so it gets loud when guests slam the front doors. The ladies at the front desk were wonderful but the gentleman was rude and unwelcoming. The breakfast selection was fantastic! That said, I wouldn’t stay there again…

Sweet little inn by UNH

This is a sweet inn. We stayed in the carriage house part and had a fairly large room. Breakfast was delivered to our room at 8:00am which consisted of hard boiled eggs, yogurt with granola, muffins, cheese, and and orange. It also came with orange juice and there was a keurig machine in the room. Staff was very pleasant and the bed was comfy.

This is a unique location in the quiet town of Durham. The age and charm of the Inn draws you in right away. Do visit the tavern in the basement too; rich colored wood creates an excellent setting. The bartender waited on the table too and was fantastic. Even the owner stopped by to check on our meal and comfort; you won't get that a Hilton! This place is a great getaway... and be sure to visit the area where they have their water fountains and waterfall too... walk further back and be a peace in the solitude. We loved it.

Quaint old New England for sure but maybe just a little too rustic. I was in rm 19 and the entrance area was not my favorite. Eight of my family members joined me for dinner and came up to see the room. Some said if felt spooky, I have to agree. Hot water took forever, lots of wasted water.

Very disappointed!

Just a terrible overall 2 night stay. First assigned a room on the 2nd floor with no elevators so carrying luggage could be a challenge for some elderly people. The room didn’t have enough electrical outlets. The shower was very small with a magnate holding the shower head so impossible to adjust. The trash in the room was not emptied our entire stay. The continental breakfast was a disappointment. There were no freshly baked products but there were bagels and individual slices of bread that were in sandwich bags so you can see that they were frozen and put back out. Overall not many choices to start the day! This was not an inexpensive stay so overall not worth what we paid.

Det var en meget charmerende kro, smagfuldt indrettet i en efter amerikanske forhold meget gammel gård. Den lå placeret i smukke grønne omgivelser. Personalet var venlige og servicemindede.

Can’t say enough great things about this place

Historical Inn with lots of character—very clean, great staff, great food—a real gem!

Nice hotel

It was a nice quaint hotel. It was comfortable and the rooms were nice. However, I expected better breakfast from a place that touts itself as a B&B. It was just plain bagels and cereal.

The property was very quaint, but some may be off out with the cemetery being so close.

Great Stay

The historical house really made it a special stay. The staff both at the hotel and the bar/grill were friendly, and shared great stories of the home. Durham is a fantastic town with great history that the Durham Historical Association, which is just down from the hotel proudly displays. I will definitely return.

This was a perfect location for a UNH reunion weekend-staff and service were awesome, and the Tavern restaurant was great.

Beautiful rooms and very quiet. The eating arrangements were awesome.
Mike, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The Inn was quaint and has beautiful grounds and a delicious continental breakfast including a waffle station. But, the room had extremely squeaky floor boards and the walls were paper thin. I heard every word of guests next door including the snoring! We stayed in the Carriage House for one night.

Lovely inn and very convenient to UNH. Would definitely stay there again and spend more time exploring this lovely part of New Hampshire
