Excellent location in Marathon. Loved having breakfast on the water and enjoyed biking to the beach (although the bikes could use some maintenance). The facilities including laundry worked well.

This is a cool idea and maybe other sites or even other boats would have made this a better stay. We had a problem with our head/toilet and it would not hold water so the noxious gas kept infiltrating the entire space. The boats are so packed in that there is zero cross ventilation so we resolved to close the bathroom door and only use the public baths. The place still smelled terrible. We reported this issue multiple times and when someone responded, we were told that the repair would need to be done when we were not there because it would get worse before it got better. We provided a time at 5:00, had an issue with a late Uber and left at 5:15 no one ever came back to fix it. We left the next morning. The sunset beach is lovely and has nice chairs for relaxing. There are kayaks but the entry is not ideal and I was bleeding by the time I got in. The property is at the end of a runway of a local airport and aside from the air traffic, the smell of jet fuel coupled with the floating septic tank we were living in was unbelievable. This place was not inexpensive and needs to do better. I rarely cast poor reviews because I do not want to damage reputations, but sure would have appreciated this information prior to our booking.

Fun concept. But we arrived on a windy day and the aqua lodge was SO LOUD. The creaking was so loud under the bedroom from a rope that we couldn’t sleep that night and there wasn’t anything we could do about it. We were told by staff the next morning “that’s what happens on a boat”. The bikes are a nice option, however we learned the surrounding area is not great (pretty industrial) and we would have had to drive in order to bike anywhere nice. The area was quiet at night (when it’s not windy) which we appreciated. Don’t miss Sunset Park at the end of the RV area.

Overall we felt the setting is overpriced and has several inconveniences. The property is quiet and well kept, and the office staff is helpful and polite; great positives. The hvac on the houseboat is the new super quiet splitters, which is excellent. The house boat is very small (size of a hotel king room) and the poor layout of the rooms makes it worse. There is no aisle to move around so only one bed has direct access to the bathroom. The passageways between the beds and walls are super narrow to the point that you cannot carry luggage or bags without lifting them up above the beds. The indoor table barely fits two meals. The plumbing is highly problematic: all drains are super slow, sink fills up in a minute, shower in five; incoming pressure is very low, making washing hair difficult; the toilet is not a normally flushed toilet, which made it mentally impossible to have BMs for some. There is no housekeeping of any kind, and the only tool that’s given is a broom, and you can’t use your own products due to the septic tank so you effectively have no way of cleaning anything other than dishes. There is a limited number of outlets and no extension cord, so even making coffee was tricky. The boat and any noisy dongle outside move significantly with north wind, to the point of motion sickness and impossibility to sleep for some. They don’t clean the lake water by the house boats, so it looks and smells gross with the rotting algae and some trash. Paring is somewhat narrow.

Staff was extremely courteous. The houseboat was clean and had loads of room. We had booked for 4 travelers but it has room for 6 in all . Despite being in standing water there was no smell inside. Beds and furnishings were clean. The kitchen had all things necessary. Though the microwave is small and there is no oven. We had a great stay. I should also mention that there are free bikes and kayaks for use on property.

The houseboat was absolutely incredible.. if you like unique experiences, this is so much better than a boring chain hotel. Despite the windy conditions, the boat only gently rocked. It was impeccably clean and extremely comfortable. The grounds are well kept and the pool was fantastic.

My houseboat did not have any ramp into enter. You have to jump from the dock to the houseboat and if you slip you fall into the water. This is extremely unsafe and dangerous unless you are physically fit and flexible. I was travelling with my mom and four people around us came for help to lift her into the houseboat. Despite reporting this to the office, we received no response for 24 hours and no safety accommodations were provided. The misleading photos and descriptions, combined with poor customer service, completely ruined our trip experience.
