we recently stayed here for 3 nights. the property is very close to nanzen-ji, in a charming area of kyoto, away from some of the very crowded tourist areas such as gion. the early morning walk to the nanzenji is one of the highlights of our stay in kyoto. it has a beautiful garden and very friendly staff. one thing i did not like is the bathroom in our room is really small and basic, reminds me of a company dormitory i once stayed in japan. overall it has been a very good experience.

The food was exquisite and I would highly recommend trying their breakfast and sukiyaki dinner. The baths were also excellent with good reservation system.
