I get there and I wait for over 5 minutes (no one else in the lobby) while the lady doing check-in clicks her mouse and talks to her coworkers about which rooms they’ve cleaned. She says “just a minute” 4x during this period. No greeting when I walked and no apology. I felt like I was being punked. Then I’m handed a slip of paper and told to sign it. On it are over 25 hotel specific policies, which I’ve never before encountered and which sign away your occupancy rights. Such gems as: 1) no visitors unless you pay $25 per. 2) even if you pay, they can’t stay longer than 30min 3) no drinking alcohol on the premises 4) no use of the outdoor areas 5) hotel can enter at any time even when the do not disturb sign is used and for any reason 6) you must let pest removal in at any time 7) no refunds 5min after check in and other ridiculous terms. Then I get to the room and I can assume that 7) above is to prevent you from running as soon as you see the room. It’s falling apart. Shower nozzle is broken on double shower. Huge cracks every where. Lastly, we are given EXACTLY one spot to park. We return from dinner and someone is parked there (neighbor has a visitor?) we have to park a nice long walk away and worry all night that our car will be towed because they don’t leave all night. All in all a terrible hotel. Poor service. Poor amenities. Draconian rules. No idea how their rating is so high, but avoid. Just go to the poconos.
