We left after one night because there were so many issues. We were told that there was a 24/7 doorman. All 3 times we tried to get back into the block, there has been no doorman and we had to wait for a resident to open the door. The actual apartment door doesn’t lock unless you slam it incredibly hard because the lock mechanism is very loose on the door. There are also only one set of keys. There are ants in the kitchen, the hallway and in the bathroom, which is concerning. The entire apartment smells of mildew and the floor is sagging and spongy in the master bedroom, presumably from water damage. The toilets were not clean when we arrived. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable and the windows are not insulated, making for poor temperature control and a lot of noise. The heater in the bathroom has a short and shocked me TWICE. All of this was relayed to “customer service”, who proceeded to have me talk to 4 different people before ultimately ghosting me. I would never recommend staying here.

Unfortunately lots of things went wrong. Poor comms around arrival and meeting to get keys. Front door key did not work. Linen not provided for sofa bed. Mobile air con unit did not work. Kitchen not equipped for 8 people, nor a single sachet for dishwasher or washing machine. (And did not even provide a sink plug!) Not enough kitchen table chairs for 8. Not advised of tradie coming to fix bathroom tiles. Shop tenants from below advised that water leaking through and do not use main bathroom or toilet. Could have been great, but was worst part of our European holiday.

The best I can say is that the location gave easy access to a couple of tube stations and had a Tesco express across the road. We booked for six of us and when we got there were pretty shocked to find no towels in the place - we finally managed to find two wedged in the sofa bed linen inside the sofa bed. Not sure how long they’d been there…. The whole place reeked of cigarette smoke and was incredibly dusty. Rug was disgusting and there were holes in, and marks on the walls. The washing machine was a rusty mess and frankly, Wotif should be ashamed to list this for the price it does. Three of us had to leave and book a hotel because their asthma couldn’t handle the smokiness. Oh and if you’re silly enough to book this, bring earplugs because emergency vehicles are flying up and down the road at all hours with sirens blaring. In fact, Wotif - I should get money refunded for paying for something that was clearly not what was advertised.

Apartment was a great size and location was very central, easy walk to Hyde Park and Oxford St etc. Unfortunately the apartment fronts onto Edgware Rd which is really noisy at night.
