This was the perfectly located place to stay. I would re-book when I next come to Melbourne. Royal Park and Melbourne Zoo are within walking distance. It’s a seven minute walk to two tram routes that take you into the CBD, one of which will take you to the beach at St Kilda. There are lots of restaurants and bars close by too - we ate lovely meals on Lygon and Sydney Streets. We received a wonderful welcome to Parkville Place. T was absolutely the best: he was very friendly, helpful and informative. The owner was equally friendly and helpful. As for the room it had all one needed for a short to medium term stay. The bed was very comfortable, a recently renovated bathroom, kitchen facilities: kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge. We also had a small shaded courtyard. Although the corridor to our room looked a bit tired, improvements are in hand.

The premises is basic, bit daggy and older but totally fine for the reasonable price! Its clean, has stovetop, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, cutlery and crockery which is very handy, but the main thing that impressed me was how incredibly friendly and wonderful all the staff were! We dealt with 3 reception staff during our stay, every single one were the MOST wonderful friendly and helpful people I've ever encountered, I was really impressed and it really made my stay!

The property is in need of a deep clean and some love. However, for the price and location it was great. It was quiet and even though it's on a main road I slept really well. Not sure I would stay here again or recommend it to others, but it did the job.
