8/10 Very good

Very good hotel, Only drawback is no AC at all - however big windows that open and each room had two powerful fans. Nice rooms, good beds, clean, staff were friendly. Breakfast was decent. Could leave our bags in their bag room after checking out on our last day which was super useful.

6/10 Good

We really liked the location of the hotel. It was in a great area, and we had no safety concerns at all during our stay. However, we felt that the cleanliness could have been better. The rooms were quite small, and the beds were not very comfortable. Overall, the location was definitely a highlight, but we expected a little more in terms of cleanliness and comfort.

Located in an ideal spot - super close to museums and Vondelpark. Metro/subway is a bit of a walk but trams at Museumplein are within 8 minutes. The place needs a deep cleaning. Carpet in hallways is grungy. The lack of AC is an issue, even in mid September. It was warm in there, though the fans really helped. They’re trying, staff was helpful and our room was tidied up well enough. We did a thorough inspection for bedbugs given the reviews on this platform as well as google and we saw no evidence nor felt signs of any. Wish it was in better shape because there’s a cool vibe to the place.

6/10 Good

Just before arriving at the hotel we noticed that there were many fairly recent reviews stating that there were bedbugs. The person at reception confirmed that they had had bed bugs 2 months prior to our arrival but it was all taken care of. Happily, I can report that there were no bedbugs during our stay. The room is small by American standards, but decent sized by European standards. The bathroom was particularly small except for the shower. The shower was nice. The double bed was 2 twin beds pushed together. This in and of itself is fine except that the 2 mattresses would not stay remotely close to each other. There was always a 4-6" gap between the mattresses within a minute after we pushed them back together. The night person at reception was absolutely excellent. We were struggling with logistics to get to the hotel particularly because Uber will not go to their street. He explained my options and as I chose a taxi, he arranged for a cab in the morning and it was there on time.

This hotel was in a great location and we enjoyed good sleep here. Unfortunately, the tv didn’t work and the sun screen was broken. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic! As was the proximity to the museum quarter of Amsterdam.

Staff was helpful. Loved the location…not in the middle of the busiest tourist area but not far, still walkable and tram options nearby. Good value for Amsterdam and I would stay there again. I knew the room would be small but two people with not even a lot of luggage was tight. Opt for the larger room.
