Location was Excellent! Room was small but we had all we needed. We struggled with the stairs, but we also had some recent knee issues that hindered us.

We loved our stay here! We stayed here for 3 nights in the canal view room and it was well worth it. Beautiful view. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

We had a room overlooking the canal. The room was clean and quite spacious. The hotel was convenient to restaurants. The hotel staff spoke English and let us check in a bit early. I would recommend.

Dancing House Win

This hotel is exploding with charm! The staff warmly greeted us and said hello during our times going in and out of the hotel. Being in one of the “dancing houses” of Amsterdam was a real trip. The furniture could use a refresh and we recommend better toiletry amenities, but the beds/sheets were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
Great spot to watch Amsterdam in action

Ok for short stay

Much older then on pictures but bed was comfortable (my partner didn’t like big pillows). Toilet is in good condition but no heating inside. Much smaller room than on pictures.

The hotel was very clean and in very central location in the historic part. The room was clean but a little outdated. The bathroom seemed recently redone. The staircase to the roo was super narrow and steep which is something to consider for person with limited mobility.

Good if you need extra bed/space for kids

Good option for a family for one night, because there was a king size bed plus a single. The building dates to the 1600's, and there are several stairs to get into the front door plus a very steep and curved staircase to get up to the 2nd floor. Interesting but would present challenges for anyone with mobility difficulty (maybe they have an elevator that I missed). The furniture and carpeting was a little tired and rough around the edges. Small bathroom with small shower and sink, and the only toiletries were hair/body wash in plastic packets plus a dispenser in the shower. Nespresso style coffee maker in room with a few pods, but no milk. Hardly any reception area, with no seating. Location was fine, and our room looked out onto a canal, but we had to keep the windows closed to sleep due to the loud music from a festival going on. There's no AC, but we used the fan provided. In a heat wave, it would be uncomfortable. Overall, it seemed like a lot to pay for the quality. Prices were very high everywhere when we stayed (August 1, 2025) during Pride festival, which we didn't realize was taking place.

4/10 Fair

Inconvenient bed when you’re a couple. Just two single beds put together. Water leak marks rotten windows and lack of ventilation options so you’ll be forced to open the window and get in the fumes from the neighbors restaurant. Also the hotel is very noisy apart from the penetrating urine smell in the entry hall. The employee asked about our experience but was only defensive and not accommodating. This was a youth hostel experience and far from three stars. Also the payment proces was very odd and seemed like you had to pay double first although that got resolved. It’s only location that speaks for the hotel.

Great location, beautiful city views (my room overlooked the river). My colleague was awoken at 4am by some partygoers in a nearby room but not the hotel’s fault although would have been nice to have some on site assistance to get them to stop playing music).

As long as you’re nimble (beware the staircases), this place is great! Very clean and quiet. Additionally it’s close to most museums and attractions. Never had to walk more than 20 minutes to a destination.

Fint hotel, knap så professionelt

Ganske fint ophold.

This hotel is one of the 'dancing houses' of Amsterdam, so you get to stay in one of the most iconic scenes in Holland! On top of that the hotel is nice and clean. The stairs are the 'Dutch death stairs' which means they are very steep with small landings for your feet, so be ready for a focused ascent/descent to and from your room; to me it was part of the charm, but it could be more than a challenge for others. Everything was a 20min walk from the hotel so I loved just strolling around Amsterdam taking it all in.

8/10 Very good

Hotel is perfectly nice, just be aware there’s an Irish bar next door and it has an outdoor space that gets loud at night. It’s fine when the window is closed but if it’s hot out you’ll have to pick between a hot room or noisy bar

Sentralt beliggenheten

Fikk sjekke inn tidlig.

The staff were excellent- extremely helpful and attentive. I lived the building. We were not expecting a room with a view, but got one, and the views were exquisite. I loved our hotel and my kids did too.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It isn't for everyone, but it was perfect for us. I requested a room on the ground level and got the one I wanted right at the front of the building. The only stairs I had to navigate were exterior, leading to the front door. The interior stairs look intimidating (narrow, steep, and curved), but lucky for me we didn't have to use them. Our room had windows that looked out on the canal, so we were able to enjoy the sights and sounds of Amsterdam in spring. Lots of restaurants and metro options just around the corner. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location for exploring

The room was clean when i arrived and everything was great. A little noisy at night from the adjacent bar, but otherwise peaceful. They had VERY steep stairs up to the rooms so be careful!
