This resort looked like it was breaking down — a lot of dirt along the roofs, a lot of cheap wood paneling coming up or coming undone.
The “Elite” service was basically pointless. There was nothing different about Elite service. Our helper did not do anything for us — we made our own reservations after he made one incorrectly and informed us to “just walk in,” but the restaurant had already told us that they could not seat us. We also were not able to use our credit, and when we asked about it, we were told by our “Elite” team to “read the paperwork” (which they had not given us). There is an elite pool, but this was also not strictly for elite members — we saw different colored wristbands there every day. At the rooftop bar, a waiter used our tab to order himself drinks. He ordered two drinks on our tab.
The restaurants were also underwhelming. There was Elite items on one menu out of five, and the restaurant did not inform us that they did not have the ingredients. This actually happened to us at a couple of restaurants — the dishes were not served as expected, but we were not informed of this. The only safe quality restaurant was Koi. Gourmet and the Steak House were both awful. We wrote a review about this, and we were essentially followed around the hotel for three days. We were pulled off of the beach to speak to the assistant manager who AGAIN lied to us. She insisted that there was lobster on the risotto but it was shrimp. The food was low-mid across the board.
