The entrance is a scruffy looking door in the side of a building. I wasn't sent door access ahead of time so was unable to get access to the property. It took half an hour for the property owners to get back to me, by which time I'd made alternative accomodation. The property owner has since refused to refund me. If you want to stay in the area, I recommend Central Hoxton Shoreditch. They actually have a front door and a reception, with someone I could speak to.

I had an amazing stay at Shuteyes in London! The boutique accommodation was cozy, beautifully designed, and offered all the modern amenities I needed. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The location was perfect—close to all the main attractions but still quiet enough for a restful night’s sleep. Highly recommend!

Despite a friendly staff, I was a little surprised to see the condition of the property. The entrance was located down a poorly lit side street (photo of side entrance area attached) and the room was above a seemingly mothballed Thai restaurant with graffiti all over it. Digital door locks were unreliable and required multiple attempts to get to even turn on to enter the codes (3 separate codes needed to eventually get into your room!) The room itself was very tired and real need of updating, with rough plaster patches, exposed plumbing, and missing shower doors for example. No TV channels, just on demand services that you need to log into your own accounts to use (don't forget to log out before you leave!). Strongly not recommended for single female travellers.

I recently had an excellent stay at Shut Eyes, a charming boutique hotel that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I checked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The hotel’s design is both stylish and cozy, with a perfect blend of modern amenities and unique touches that give it a distinctive character. My room was immaculate, featuring a comfortable bed, high-quality linens, and thoughtful details that made my stay extra special. The quiet ambiance ensured a restful night’s sleep, while the hotel’s convenient location made it easy to explore the surrounding area. The attention to detail and personalized service truly set Shut Eyes apart from other hotels. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable boutique experience. I’ll definitely be back for another stay!

The one slight downside was the comms surrounding the entry because it wasn’t clear that you had to go into the restaurant around the corner for access at first and I didn’t receive an email as was stated in the check in instructions. As for the room itself, no complaints. For the price we weren’t expecting the Earth but the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the bathroom facilities were decent. There was the green security light as I’d seen in a couple of other review but it didn’t bother us. All in all not a bad little stay at all.

Good Hotel.

Nice hotel, but not really boutique 😄 Location is good, 15 minutes walk to underground and 10 to overground. Good bus service on main road taking you to Liverpool Street. Getting access to room was different, you have to go to Thai Restaurant, where you are given codes to enter the hotel area. Staff took me to the room, which was good but no reception. Room was good, what I would expect for budget hotel.. if you're expecting boutique, you'll be disappointed. Room size was very good, facing street but not to noisy. Mattress on bed was not good, one side was fine but one side had clearly been overused. Ensuite was good with nice shower. Would recommend and stay again.

Basic but fine

Very basic hotel. We only needed a bed for the night after a gig. Staff were friendly. Was confusing to get to, was supposed to get an email explaining to go into a thai resturant which i did not. A lot of different codes for different doors, which we had a take a photo of on someones phone. The room itself was very basic. Tea and a kettle was provided, but no coffee. Only one hand and bath towel for a double room. The tv was a smart tv which was nice but unfortunately there was no remote so was unable to use. Not the cleanest room but not the worst. Skirting boards were dusty, splashes of paint of ths wooden floors, plus socket was wonkey and the extractor fan in the bathroom was hanging off. There was an actual bottle of shampoo which was quite nice. Bed was comfy enough, walls were thin but actually wasnt too loud at all throughout the night. As a whole it feels like the hotel wants to be this very "boutiquey" hotel with colourful wallpaper and cushioned headboards and its not quite worked. For the money, and fact we only needed a bed for the night it was fine. But i dont think we'd go back

The worst place I have stated since the late 1980's. Im sure this is a multi floor HMO. I'm not wasting good time listing all the issues. Everything wrong with it. No plus points at all. Only stayed 2 nights out of 3 I paid and moved elsewhere.

The place is in a good location the bed is comfy - was a strange green light at night in the room and there are three key locks to get in but it is a decent price for london in a nice location.

Ease of access.

Should have put the side street it was on it would have been easier to find . You had to put 6 digits codes in three different doors to get in and get to your room . Keys or key cards would ha ve been easier.

Was literally the last place available

A group of flats above a Thai restaurant. Scetchy as f*** alleyway to get in, and three door codes. Would personally not ever think of staying here again.
