Awful stay

Our room was located next to Club Coco and the music was so loud that we could not hear the TV and the room vibrated from the bass. The music played until 2am Friday and Saturday and Sunday from noon until after midnight. When asked upon check out how our stay was, I voiced my dissatisfaction and how upset we were, his response was “that’s because you were next to Club CoCo” and never apologized.

Great SM location

Great location with variety of room options ideal for a family. The two br suite was great for our family (just be aware it’s literally 2 br and that’s it, no family or hangout space). Great restaurants near by with an amazing pool deck and courtyard area. Would definitely stay here again.

All we had hoped for!

Our second visit to the Beacon, Santa Monica. Ocean view well worth the extra cost. Unfortunately the roof top bar was closed, but hopefully be open when we return to Santa Monica in September. Keep the room rates to an affordable price, and we will DEFINITELY return.

Horrific customer service. They only want your $

This property was nice, the hotel staff at the property are incredible! However, I called to have my room freshened up and the guy on the phone (in some other location) said i would be charged for a clean or freshening up of the room. I said your competitors don’t charge that and if you want to charge that I’ll take my business elsewhere. They seemed to not care about my business and they also would not let me speak to a manager or front desk person at the property. They said I had to go and talk to them in person. So I did show up to the Front Desk and canceled my reservation and asked for a refund. Corporate policies of money grubbing and nickel and diming your customers for everything is noticed and loathed. There are plenty of other great hotels in the area that are far better to their guests. Try The Huntley, Ocean View Hotel or the Viceroy. All are nearby and do it much better for the same price or less. This place is inhospitable to their guests. They also have a massive hotel run by only one person. That’s cheap and creates bad service for the guests and a bad work experience for their employees. Typical corporate hotel that only cares about your money, but makes no effort to make your trip a good experience with their hospitality. They don’t care about you and they make that abundantly clear to you. Run from this place!

Needs fine tuning, but great price, location.

Great location, nice price, very clean. Bathroom had a deep tub, might be hard to get in and out for some people. Small fridge needs to be thrown out, it was making popping sounds, I unplugged since it was waking me up. Room had a great view. The door has a keypad lock, and when I returned after breakfast, the app didn’t have the code any longer, it looked like I had already checked out.

A Gem in Santa Monica

We had a wonderful stay at Sonder The Beacon. The staff were super pleasant and helpful, no query was too difficult. The heated pool in the winter was an added bonus. Location was terrific, right on the beachfront and close to shopping, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. All in all we were sad to leave and can't wait to return.

NEVER STAY HERE

This is not a hotel this is more like a run down skid row apartment complex with kids at the desk who cannot do anythiny. We had a room below a dance club that blared terrible music till 2 am. When I checked in they told me about the roof top bar but they assured me it was on the other side of the building (not true) then they said they could move us also not true. When I went up it was an empty dance floor with a terrible DJ and two bar tenders drinking with horrible music blaring to nobody. all a bit sad and tragic. I assume the economy will put them out if business but since the hotel does not tell you about the noice best to NEVER STAY HERE.

Would stay again

Great stay, app made it easy and someone replied all the time. View was amazing of Santa Monica beach! Great location close to bars and restaurants and the beach. Made the stay perfect. Felt safe even though I was a female alone. Only thing that sucked was I couldn’t get a late checkout and there was no showers and my flight was late in the evening but other than that would stay again!
