The hotel is lovely and located within walking distance of everything in the historic district! The best part of the hotel is the staff. Diana and Alejandra were especially helpful and so very kind.

great hotel

It’s not a simple hotel, it’s home away from home. Everyone, from the owners to the staff is incredible. They will go above and beyond to help with anything and make you feel welcome. A true gem, great location. Rooms are modern, clean and stunning. Chilaquiles for breakfast are first class. We couldn’t be luckier to stay here TOP PLACE! also great for events!. We fall in love with it! and we are looking forward to staying there again…we will be back 100%😍🌟

2/10 Poor

Uncomfortable

I really wanted to like this hotel. If you are looking for a place to relax, I would look elsewhere. Beds feel so firm and rock solid to the point where I had trouble sleeping and without a sheet, just comforter. Additionally, shower pressure is very weak and takes long to heat. If you need good lighting for hair or makeup for a wedding, rooms are very dark. It was inconvenient for me to leave for my second night but necessary. Customer service does seem to care so hoping it will improve, but won’t be coming back.

The best hotel ever

I have traveled on six continents, stayed in luxury hotels and some terrible dumps, but I have never had a better experience than my stay at Maison Mexique in San Miguel de Allende. As you walk into the lobby the is an immediate sense of calm. You are greeted by Diana who is by far the best Consierge ever. Through a courtyard and up to a beautiful room. The room is large with all the amenities. It’s painted in a soft relaxing hue, a king size bed and a sitting area with a sofa and chairs. It’s like a studio apartment. Clean, neat and quiet. Beautiful. The hotel is lovely but the best is yet to come. I have never been around a staff this friendly. Polite, cheerful, and willing to help you with whatever you need. Breakfast with the servers Jerry and Raul were a great way to start the day. After a day in San Miguel we decided that it would be the perfect place to get married. I went Diana and asked how we would go about doing this. Within days she had arranged for someone to officiate the service, plan the dinner, bring in flowers, and arranged a rooftop, sunset wedding. It was beyond our dreams! A rooftop Wedding overlooking San Miquel! It was unbelievable. Since we were there alone we invited the marvelous staff to join us. The owner of the hotel and his wife even came. We were then treated to a sumptuous meal, the best we had in San Miguel, the chef is fabulous! To top it off, the staff got together and bought us our wedding cake. It was magical! The night before we left, we

8/10 Very good

The property was very comfortable and clean. I had a great week-long stay. It is a boutique hotel without many amenities, but that is to be expected for the area. The hotel is walkable to all areas. The only aspect that was a bit uncomfortable is that the rooms are basically in front of the restaurant. Basically, you will have to walk by people that are eating to come in and out of your room. You can also hear the music and conversations from your bedroom. For this reason, I don't think I'd stay here again.

Super happy and satisfied

Thus property caught us by surprise. It is a lot better than we expected. It retains the colonial architecture down to the condition of the stairs and doors. It took me back to my grandma's place in the old country. The layout of the rooms is veey smart where no 2 guests can open their door and look or bump into each other. We stayed in room #9 and were beyond our imagination satisfied. It was veey roomy, comfortable and welcoming. Right outside our door and above are two terraces from you can see the city almost in its entirety. Though accessible to other patrons the location of this room makes it feel like the terrace was ours alone. The only down side is that the elevator was out of order on our check in day but that was nothing in comparison to the rest of our stay. The location of the hotel is in a busy area on a street heading out to Queretaro but by 9 or 10 p.m. all is quiet but you're in for a walk uphill when returning from where all the action is. But there are so many eateries and watering holes on the way that the walk does not matter at the end. The staff is amazing, Diana, Jimena and Miguel go above and beyond their duties to make sure our experience is a good one. The cook, the gardener and other unsung heroes were super polite and approachable. We traveled in May and the city was hot but its parks and sitting areas have so many trees you can take refuge before pushing forward. The market has everything, their eateries are excellent at very affordable prices.

8/10 Very good

I was hesitant to leave this review because I did have a few issues that the hotel needs to address to become a top notch destination. First I want to acknowledge the personnel: they were awesome in every aspect! A special commendation to Miguel. He was amazing: friendly, thoughtful, helpful! However, there were a few issues: the flow of our shower was tiny(yikes!) very little water to shower. Then the service to our room was a little raw. It seemed that the covers were put on top of the fitted sheets but they were never stretched. Also, I cut myself while shaving and accidentally stained a towel. We left it so that it could be replaced, but unfortunately it never was replaced. We had to ask to get a new set of towels. Perhaps these are not issues but I think guests will appreciate when service takes care of these details whiteout having to ask.

Bueno

Buen servicio y amabilidad de todo el personal. Buena ubicación. Desayuno normal con poca variedad. Se escuchaban peleas de gatos en la azotea toda la noche.Hay otros hoteles cerca con mismos servicios a mucho menor costo.

Lovely hotel with several levels of decks to enjoy. Room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff there were extremely nice and really went out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The owners were available much of the time and offered good suggestions on restaurants and sites. Very convenient location too. My only suggestion would be to provide better lighting in the room as it was a little dark. Also a lighter blanket would be nice instead of just the heavy quilt which was kind of hot to sleep under even with the a/c turned all the way down. I would highly recommend this hotel if visiting SMDA.

Saludos!
