This lovely hotel has been refurbished. We loved the new pool and the spa looks great. One of our rooms was a junior sweet which was like a nice hotel room but no separate area to sit, just a sofa bed. The other had a four poster bed with separate sleeping area. The latter looked a little stark and needed updating l. I preferred the junior suite it was cosy. Everything was very clean. The restaurant was fabulous, what a great space. There were minor points that let the hotel down but overall I would definitely stay again.

The bed!! I took the sheets off as I was leaving to help the cleaning staff, but the state of the mattress and pillows was disgusting, no pillow protectors on full of stains as wuas the mattress. Also at just gone 7am an alarm went off and woke us up, not sure if it was a fire alarm but only lasted a few seconds but not want you want to hear when you're sleeping.

The main issue was the room and amenities. The room allocated did not match the Junior Suite we booked and paid for, with uncomfortable beds and several advertised amenities missing, including a bath, adequate tea and coffee facilities, sufficient towels, bottled water, and dressing gowns. In addition, we were not informed at the time of booking that access to the swimming pool would incur an additional charge, which significantly impacted our decision to stay.

The stay was the worst hotel stay I have probably ever had especially for the price. The room I upgraded to I ended up buying an airbed for the additional bed as the quality was awful. I had a room for 3 people and only had 2 sets of towels, mugs and glasses etc and had to ask multiple times for extras at one point I even ended up with LESS. The restaurant was extremely slow and I was charged a different price for the same meal three days in a row. The room was not very clean and at one pint when I asked for an extra mug the staff asked if I could leave the door on the latch as they didn’t have a key at which point I refused and then I came back to find my door open I assume by one of the staff who had left it that way. Dreadful experience and would not recommend staying. The only redeeming quality was how good the gym was.

The staff could not do enough for you... The rooms were spotless, very clean... Amenities.. The spa was OK, lights in changing room not working & no spa treatments were available... Having said that the staff were fantastic & that made up for the whole experience.... The food in the restaurant at night was top class
