Hotel getting a new start

This hotel has apparently reopened recently, perhaps under new management. There was a sense that we were alpha-testing their systems in terms of hot water, WiFi, and included breakfast. There was a fair amount of confusion. However, the staff were responsive and well-meaning. I hope they are able to get their ducks in order.

Goyal Hoteliers really impressed me with their cleanliness and service. I’m very particular about hygiene, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the room exceptionally neat. The floor was spotless, the bedsheets crisp and clean, and the bathroom sanitized thoroughly. It felt like staying in a much higher-end hotel. Besides cleanliness, the location is unbeatable. You can walk to the Taj Mahal in under 10 minutes, which is so convenient, especially if you want to beat the crowd at sunrise. The staff was courteous and always ready to help. They even arranged an auto for us at a reasonable price. I stayed here with my family, and all of us had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It's not a luxury hotel, but for the price and what they offer, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend it for tourists visiting Agra.

Not full of fond memories for us

We were not originally given the class of room that we had booked. The manager either didn't understand that we had pre-booked a tour (or something more sinister), but he arranged a guide to arrive next morning despite being told no - I had to disappoint the guide, poor fellow. Not sure if there is a well-located hotel in Agra - it's all a bit full-on. Don't choose this hotel if you want to walk anywhere. The restaurant downstairs has good dinner, but the breakfast isn't great. There's a great place next door (with an alcohol licence), and a couple of good clothing shops nearby.

The hotel was helpful beforehand and arranged a car to meet us at Tundla Junction Station. The driver was excellent and we found each other easily. I hsd been told to pay rhe hotel. On arrival after check in the mansger asked for the money.. i gave him 2000IR expecting 200IR change which never materialised. During check in the manager kept trying to sell us Taj tours and other tours. I said we had a taj tour. But asked him about another tour He came up with a quote and i said I'd go back to him the next day as it sermed expensive. That night we ate in the very strange basement restaurant- the only diners. The food came out quicly and we enjoyed it. BUT by nect day we hoth had a dreadful stomach upsets that then.lasted about 8 day's. Assisted by the Taj tour guide we got some. medication. Managed the Taj trip as it was just a short one. We arranged another trip for the next day. Bssed on how we felt. On walking back into the hotel the manager immediately wanted to know if we wanted the tour. I said no we were ill from eating in the hotel restaurant. No offer off compensation. When leaving he tried again to sell us a car and driver. I'll not be going here again!!

Do not believe the reviews!!! Upon arrival at the hotel we found out international credit cards weren’t accepted! Would have been nice to know beforehand. When we got to the room the bathrooms were filthy, not just a little…but gross. Wifi wasn’t working on our floor. Street noise was a problem. We asked for our money back and they moved us to a sister hotel not far away. Cleanliness wasn’t much better but tolerable. Took quite a while to get wifi to work. Decided to give it a chance, was woken up at 3am from people on the floor checking in/getting there, this went on for an hour. Went to call front desk but no phone. Got dressed and went to complain. We got a refund for the second night and went somewhere else!
