8/10 Very good

Overall a decent stay. Staff were polite and efficient with check-in and the room was clean, tidy and all basic requirements for a comfortable stay. Bathroom was surprisingly modern. Only downers were the noise from the bar downstairs (but it did go quiet after 10pm) and parking (had to park around the corner on a public road). I'd stay again if I was in the area. Thanks

6/10 Good

Business stay.

One night stay for work. Bad night sleep, very bright neon light on ceiling for smoke detector I guess and loud Road noise. Late night bin collection outside my room. The room on the other hand was exceptional. Food in bar was very good.

Spent 5 nights at the Ivy Tree and loved all of them! The staff is extremely helpful and go above and beyond to help you. I had forgot my charger adapter and the hotel staff lended me their personal one for the whole stay. The breakfast is delicious and the staff make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. Do try the pancakes, they we're delicious! The hotel overall is really comfortable and clean, the food at the pub is delicious and you'll feel taken care of your whole stay. I fully recommend staying here. The only minus is that the shower is a bit small, but that seemed to be the case in most of the hotels I searched for in England.

8/10 Very good

Clean, fresh with great food and staff

Pros : Great welcome from Jack. Shown to room 3 which was a double en-suite. Perfectly adequate for us. Nice clean bedding and a clean shower and wc. The room was tastefully decorated with quality furnishings. A small compact room with a well stocked tea tray. The weather was lovely so it was great to open the window fully for a nice breeze. All the towels were fresh and nice and thick. Soaps, shower cap and body wash all supplied. Easy parking with a nice outside garden area which we enjoyed sitting in the sunshine with family. Compliments to the chefs here. Pork belly bites particularly good. All the dishes we enjoyed and again, the mince and onion pie of the day was lovely. A very nice breakfast with good quality ingredients too. Cons: Nothing to complain about but just a couple of things to mention. The shower cubicle is very snug. The green light on the ceiling was very bright at night. Flat batteries in the tv remote so it wouldn’t work. Not really an issue as we stayed just the one night. To summarise: Every member of staff we were served by were so lovely and professional. We will most certainly return when back in the area. Thank you

I keep waxing lyrical about this hotel, but they never cease to deliver. I managed to get in the executive suite this time, for £112. The premier inn 5 minutes up the road is £113. For a single traveller on business there is nothing better. Breakfast is hearty, delicious, and served with a smile. You cannot ask for more

Don’t stay if you want sleep!

Not the place to go if you want a good nights sleep. In the ground floor rooms you can hear every footstep taken in the rooms above extremely loudly. Was woken up at 11pm, 2am and 6am on the first night. When asked if I could change rooms was reassured that the room above mine would be empty the next night and I wouldn’t be disturbed but once again I was awoken through the night. Room also had lots of spiders in it, especially the shower which had 2 dead spiders and 2 live ones inside. Bed was very comfortable and bedding and towels were clean. Struggled to check out because the bar was closed and we hadn’t been told that it might be closed, so didn’t know that there was a box to drop keys in behind another locked door - took about 15 minutes to figure this out and manage to leave. Didn’t try the breakfast because it was expensive, but dinner from the pub was average.

Stayed with work as my usual Middlesbrough hotel prices were sky high. This place is Ace. Free parking, comfy, rooms and the food was amazing.

Yet another super friendly, comfortable stay, even down to the friendly welcome card on my breakfast table. Nothings too much, and everyone was super friendly even when I arrived for breakfast 5 minutes before it finished. This is my definite go to whenever I’m in the northeast working from now on
