Staying at Montebelo Vista Alegre was a great surprise. From beginning to ending the experience was incredible. The staff is friendly and attentive, always available to help. The good taste of the decoration is remarkable and you can see the Vista Alegre porcelain all around the building. The location is unparalleled: you are one block to the Luiz de Camões Square but the street is very calm and quiet and you don't hear the crazyness of tourism. I definitely recommend this hotel.

There is potential

If you are looking for a true 5 star boutique hotel I think there are better options. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel with central location for the price, you might be satisfied. This hotel has such a huge potential. It’s really beautiful, both from the outside and the interior. But after this it fails in most details. The service is more on the 3/4 star level, and there is nothing personal about the service you receive. With proper staff that attends to its guests rather than staring at the computers, this hotel could be one of the best ones in Lisbon. The balcony door wouldn’t close completely, there was a gap so the sound from the outside door was rather loud in the room. Think it was just for my room, but still something that needs to be attended to.

Breakfast not included as advertised

When booking at hotels.com all available room types included free breakfast, however, at check in we were informed that breakfast was not included in our booking. We were told by hotel staff that their policy recently changed to make breakfast optional and advised us to raise the issue with hotels.com, who were very unhelpful and seemingly didn’t understand the problem. This was the only drawback to an otherwise flawless stay.
