It was just okay because lots of the stuff was closed. Also the hot tub was dirty rooms didn’t get cleaned everyday and the coffee was horrible and breakfast was cold.

This place needs to be bulldozed and rebuild to modern standards. It is so outdated and so many problem. No elevator at all in the building. There is a part of the building that is so old and black looking it looks like it may have caught on fire. I would never stay at this place again just too bad.

Split rock lodge sucks.

There was no one to register us and we had to go to a different location to check in. Hot tub and pool were filthy. There was no breakfast included but said there was in description. There were no wash cloths in room, AC did not work well at all, stated at 70 degrees. There was no restaurant at property that was clean and open. The lake was unable to be used.

We waited 2 hours for check in, then were given the wrong room. It was old, looked dirty, smelled, and we asked for our money back. No way were we staying there! The outside of the building has siding hanging off or missing altogether, no AC in main lobby, nobody at property site to answer questions! Terrible experience!

Out dated, not well kept. Individual rooms were nice enough. Needs a lot of work to maintain guests and visitors. The Mexican restaurant experience was less than poor. Although the food was good. The time of dining was unacceptable. We waited almost 90 min for basic tacos and nachos. Not sure if they were understaffed. There are no lounge chairs to sit near lake. The fitness center was less than poor. Would not stay here again. It was NASCAR weekend so you would think they would be more prepared

They switched our reservation at the Luxury Lodge to a room at Split Rock hotel. Room on 3rd floor. Elevator not working. No one available to help with luggage. A lot of steps for a handicapped person. The first stairway they told us to use did not go to 3rd floor. Incompetent communication. Air condition in some areas of hotel not working. Old musty smell throughout hotel and room. Hope Expedia can rectify.

Rooms were clean … but we were the ONLY people in the hotel .. not even employees were there … it was a bit eerie. The indoor pool and spa did not seem usable … ( cold water …) would have been nice to have coffee available in the lobby in the morning …

Some good and some bad/Beware- no elevators at lod

Check-in was not at the building we were staying in. Had a desk, but no one was there. Saw a sign that said to check in at another building, so we did that. Lake is not for swimming because of polluted water. All other lakes in the area are active with swimmers. They claimed it was because of the rain water. Didn't seem to effect other lodges in the area. The lodge itself had no elevators or handicap access. This was not mentioned when I made the reservations and it wasn't posted anywhere on site. Anyone off the road could come in and wander around. It did not seem to have any noticeable security. Called the front desk number provided and no one answered. I was able to leave a message, but that was useless, because no one ever called me back. Restaurants were fine; entertainment was fine; room and amenities were good. Very poor communication by the lodge's management.

Reminiscent of the Redrum hotel

First, the hotel has a different name. So if you google it to travel there you have to figure out that you're looking for Split Rock instead of "The Lodge Luxury Resort at Lake Harmony", but that name also refers to a place down the road which is very confusing. At the check in desk there is no desk clerk, just a sign saying to drive to Split Rock (no directions on how to get there) and then a different sign has the address scribbled in pen. Its a few miles to the Resort to check in. You can't swim right now because the lake water is needs treatment, but you can rent a kayak/canoe (as if I would want to canoe in bad water). The room was very clean, but the fake wood wallpaper on the ceiling was peeling off and although the lobby has had some updates, the rest of the place looks like it hasn't been touched since the nineties. The pool/hot tub were functional, just old. Everything is very old. Also at the continental breakfast another couple showed up and said they were relieved to see there was breakfast because a few days prior they had to tell the staff that they were supposed to have a breakfast, so they came up with one, but then the next day it wasnt there, so it was hit or miss on whether they had a breakfast available I guess. Very strange stay... but I will say the staff was helpful and friendly and everything although old was very clean so they have a good team there.

Pool not open or heated, kids disappointed. Checkinnwas confusing and inconvenient.
Chad, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Absolutely terrible communication between staff and guests particularly front desk staff being extremely rude unprofessional and nasty. Absolutley no accommodations were done during a snow and ice storm leaving the parking lot and surrounding roads like a sheet of ice leaving people stranded. Security offered to transport guests in their own personal vehicles and if the guest said no to it being or they felt unsafe the staff accused them of refusing transportation taking no accountability that this buisness was unprepared for a storm they knew about well ahead of time. Highly disappointed and will never return

Deceitful amenities

We booked our stay here because of the indoor pool and spa. There is no spa and the indoor pool is in disrepair and has been for some time. There are holes in the roof. He complimentary breakfast starts at 8:30. We rise at 5:30 and wanted to get coffee. There is nowhere to get coffee without leaving the premises before 8:30. If that is the case should be a coffee maker in the room. Dorm size fridge. What saved this place from getting the lowest score is their staff. All of them are so nice. They do try to make up for the lack of things to the best of theirs ability. The room was very clean. We don’t drink so cannot say anything about the bar.

Lake Harmony is a very quaint area, various eateries in the small community. It was a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

The room was very clean, and also the food was excellent at the Mexican restaurant, Connor was our waiter and did an excellent job.

The lodge looks and appears as though it is minimally upkept a mind somewhat forgotten. The lake tea that is designated for swimming has been closed since June so don’t plan on bringing younger children there as it really doesn’t have much to offer them. The indoor pool looks like it hasn’t been cared for regularly and makes you question its cleanliness.

Not like the pictures

When we booked, the pictures made this look like somewhere we would want to swim and hang out by the water. The lagoon is very murky. There's not really a beach that you would want to spend time on. When you go to check in, there's a sign saying to drive somewhere else (the Town Center) to check in. It's a bit away. The Lodge, where we were, was very outdated. It really needs a makeover. Several other guests made comments like, "bet this was booming in the 80's." The actual rooms were very nice. The bathroom and main room were updated and clean. The AC worked, although our bed did not have a blanket or comforter. I asked for one the 2nd day and they had to look for one. My wife was shivering the 1st night. Breakfast was ok. The Mexican restaurant was not good. A nearly $30 per person buffet for dinner was similar to a college cafeteria quality, although I think most colleges would do better. Nothing was very good and the drinks weren't great, either. It wasn't bad enough to leave, but for multiple hundreds a night, it certainly wasn't worth the cost. Not sure where some glowing reviews came from. Maybe we're just used to Hilton resort quality.
