Very neat hotel in the middle of Fountain Square! Charming rooms that have a historical vibe to them. Roof top bar, duckpin bowling, and speakeasy...all in the same building. Highly recommend for a unique experience for your trip to Indianapolis.

Loved this historic hotel in an up and coming downtown neighborhood.

Beautiful Hotel

Beautiful old hotel. Only there one night, but I have no complaints. It's on street, free parking, so I can see that being an issue, but we found a spot a block away. The neighborhood seemed safe, so I trusted my car being on the street. Close to downtown and a lot of bars and restaurants nearby. Bed was really comfortable. Loved having a fridge and microwave. Everyone was nice as well.

We loved this Inn. The room was so clean and has anything you need for a comfortable stay. I was promptly greeted by Eric who gave me the key, and a quick briefing on the elevator, room, etc. We absolutely went nuts for our room, 309, which was a well curated mid century room. We love the history of the Inn and area. You can have a fun night and not even leave this building. We hope to stay again.

Fun and Unique Place to Stay

I traveled to Indianapolis to see a friend. I wanted a place near their party venue, and this hotel was great for that. Great location, very comfortable suite, and lots of things to do all around us. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, so the area was very busy and very noisy, that was the only drawback of this stay. I would love to stay here again sometime.

Lovely place 5 minute Uber drive away from downtown at roughly half the price of a downtown hotel. The decor was relaxing. Upland brewery a block away was a bonus.

Fountain View is a lovely vintage style hotel with a great staff. It is within walking distance of all the restaurants and music venues in Fountain Square. We have stayed here several times and every time we have a winderful stay!

I liked the uniqueness of the property. The old bowling alley in our building was from the area we are from. My husband knew the family. Everything was great except you have to deal with allot of street noise, and building noise until the early morning hours. I grew up in Indy and really enjoy all the improvements the city has made. Cute property. Clean and confortable. The elevator is a bit tricky and theres a bowling alley above the rooms so kinda loud during the day but very quiet at night and very secure.

Everyone was very kind and helpful! It’s definitely a small, unique inn on the 3rd floor of an old building with lots of character. Lots of food options around. Parking is on the street but free. My only complaint is the noise and the rugs in the bathrooms were a slipping hazard (might need something with some grip…my dad fell pretty hard when it slipped out from under him). The walls are thin, but it’s an old building. Overall, a pleasant and charming stay.

4/10 Fair

The road noise and nightlife around this property was really bad. People yelling and loud cars reviving their engines at late hours. I’m used to a fair amount of urban noise, but this was a lot. The room itself was good, although ours in particular had a water leak issue that caused water under the laminate floors (I’m sure the staff will deal with after our stay). Room was nice and cool and in otherwise good condition. Good bus connectivity.

Please UPGRADE the Windows!!!!

This hotel room had the potential to be fantastic. HOWEVER, it was below zero temperature outside, and the heat in my room did not work AT ALL. Management had to be aware, because a small space was placed in the room. Although after I notified management, I was provided a nicer room (cosmetically). That room was just as cold, and there was snow on the INSIDE of two window panes!!!!! The room was freezing, and the thermostat only reached a level of 66 degrees, even with the space heater! It’s an old, OLD historic building, but the windows are just as old, and was never upgraded. I don’t see a quick fix anytime soon. Be careful staying at this Hotel when it’s cold outside.

Not a real Hotel!

This Hotel was far from Boutique in any way other than I've never stayed anywhere like it. The building its self is indeed historical and on the National Register. First floor is Bar and restaurant that I would not eat at due to the cleanliness upon entering. 2nd floor is low income apartments and 3rd floor consisted of 11 Hotels rooms that upon first impression seemed cute and nostalgic. But it was more like a college dorm room with miss matched furnishings. We book this room for a concert in downtown Indianapolis. Spent over $250 for 2 queen beds. Which would be a reasonable price if it was true to how it was presented on website. Did I also say 4th floor bowling alley. Was informed after I booked the room the the lane was right above but bowling stops at 11pm. No problem I thought we wouldn't be back from concert until about then. The bowling continued until 12:30!!! Then some strange pressurized rattling started in the entered wall...it was 20-25 min of noise. By 1 am the hotel room was quiet but soon the out side alley noise starts. Windows single pane wood 1970's. Worst hotel ever. It's not really a hotel its a menagerie. By the way this is the first review or compliant i've ever posted!

2/10 Poor

We arrived and there was absolutely no parking. Had to park two city blocks away and drag our luggage down the street. No check-in counter and were sent to three different entrances before being told we had to call a number to have someone come and let us in. The hotel number was a recording that instructed us to call another number. Once we got ahold of someone we were told that everyone was already gone for the day because they assumed all of the guests had checked in. This was at 5:30 PM on a Friday. We had to wait another 15 minutes for someone to come and let us in only to discover that they had given our room away to a wedding party that was there that weekend. The manager I spoke to on the phone laughed as if it was a comical situation. We were eventually refunded our money but then had to drive all the way back to St Louis after the concert we attended that evening. Incredibly unprofessional and disappointing.
