The sanitation is very bad. On our first day, there were stains on the quilt and we obviously didn't change our sweaters. There were only two bath towels for four of us and there was hair in the water tank of the coffee machine. The hotel is next to the road and it is very noisy. We had to ask to change rooms. When we moved to the new room, a terrible scene happened. The bathroom sink was full of dirt, which was very disgusting. The sanitation of this hotel is very bad. This hotel has no staff after 8pm and any questions you have have to get in after 9am.

I stayed at Hotel Zindel (San Diego) March 25–26, and the experience did not match how this property is represented on Hotels.com. From booking, I received messages from multiple phone numbers, creating confusion and concern. There is no true front desk—everything is handled by app/text, and there was no staff on-site during my stay. The property itself felt unsafe and uncomfortable: a poorly lit entrance directly off a busy sidewalk, steep uneven steps, and constant street noise all night. There is also no parking. I was required to accept a “daily amenity fee” during check-in, which listed amenities such as a lounge, coffee, snacks, and billiards. These amenities were not actually available—there is only a small entry area with minimal furniture. This fee is not justified. Service was also lacking. I requested towels through multiple contacts, received conflicting responses, and was promised delivery within 30 minutes—nothing was ever delivered. Security is another concern: rooms use basic combo locks with no deadbolt or privacy latch. This property is advertised as a “hotel,” but it operates more like a budget Airbnb/hostel, which is not clearly disclosed. The listing photos (social setting, cocktails, amenities) are misleading. Given the discrepancy between listing and reality, I recommend Hotels.com review this property and consider appropriate resolution.

Excellent stay !! Many restaurants and bars near by. The room was very spacious and clean, though it was in need of a good dusting but it was clean where it counted. The air conditioner was excellent and the bathrooms were nice with modern updates. The staff was amazing and very helpful and we loved the snacks and drinks available in the common area. The parking situation was not great but we made it work. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was wonderful, location-room-Except’ parking. After going around so many times and still not getting close. We had our puppies and luggage. There were pipes sticking out of side walk that my husband didn’t see and fell in the middle of the crosswalk. We weren’t able to use the key pad to get in and out the door closest to our room. Need to fix.
