Great location

Hotel in need of a deep clean

My overall stay was fine and the location is very central, but the hotel has definitely seen better days. The main problem was cleanliness. There were stains on some of the towels and sheets along with pubic hair. The inside of the toilet had hard water stains making it a brown-ish colour and the shower was mouldy and had stains on the shower tray. The mattress also didn't have a proper protector or cover, just a flat sheet on top of it, so if you toss and turn at night, you will very quickly be sleeping on the mattress directly which cannot be sanitary considering the number of people who have slept on it. The Hotel doesn't have any staff (check-in is automated), so there wasn't anyone to ask to switch sheets, towels, etc.

Great location for a short break in Bordeaux

2/10 Poor

Near the city center, but mold is evident underneath the bathroom sink & heat making conditions poor as no AC.

Extreme disappointment

The stay was FAR below what you would expect when you this much for a hotel. Beds were extremely uncomfortable (more like elevated matresses) and there was an insane noise from the construction right next to our room. When there is crazy construction like this going on it should be highlighted for the guests and discount should be given. We were woken up everyday at 7 and it continued all day long. Completely crazy when you pay almost 400 euros per night. We have a video where you can see and the hear the crazy noise

Great location, central in Bordeaux

No reception and check-in code did not work and several guests had the same issue. Staff on the phone not very good at English, but friendly enough. Automatic checkin counter is very slow (up to a few minutes to find reservation). However, when checked in it is nice and easy with the door code. Be mindful there is no cleaning and there are steep stairs up to the rooms, but rooms are nice and clean and value for money. Be aware though the small rooms are very small. They look bigger on the pictures. Still recommendable for a value for money stay at a great central location. Also, we did not get any cleaning or replacement og toilet paper, so we had to go and buy. Small details missing, like a place to hang your towel in the bathroom or room. However, the location makes up for almost all.

2/10 Poor

Hotel has good location, but the automated service is pretty poor. They are supposed to send an email 24 hrs in advance of your arrival with check in codes. It actually arrived 2.5 hrs before, when there was no access to Wi-Fi. So you have to stand outside the hotel and wait for someone to let you in. There is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up three flights of stairs. The bedroom is much, much smaller than the photos suggest.

This very attractive small hotel is located close to the centre of the old city. All the main sites are walkable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. There is no lift, so be prepared to carry your luggage up two floors.

Value for money - small room but was only a base so not an issue for me ; breakfast very basic ; not worth £10 ; but again fine as convenient.

Central basic accommodation with great staff.

Very central location. Amazing staff. Only a 2* property so no lift or air con, but did have a fan in the room. Room decor was tired and definitely needs updating, especially the carpet. But price reflects the accommodation

8/10 Very good

A great location. I bought breakfast for my first morning there, but it was a bit confusing. I got a black coffee (no milk or sugar so I couldn’t drink it), and a small roll, croissant and some nice jam & butter, but no cereal, no juice- nothing else for €10 so it was a bit rich. But a very nice room, and a lovely, friendly check in and out experience. I’d recommend it for anyone (just may not bother with breakfast).

Average room, but it could get very very noisy, maybe it’s just the summer, but loud till 2am and later
Kenneth, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

The worst hotel experience ever. No reception desk between 12pm to 4pm. Very bad quality of the room. Clugged bathroom. 9sqm room for $140/night. 4 level hotel without elevator! Careful and good luck if you are travelling with luggage and given a room at the 4th level
Gregory, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Everything was broken, dirty, shower didn’t drain and there was no plunger to fix it! Toilet and fan were also broken! Staff was nice but couldn’t fix anything. We had to leave early!

Noisy but comfortable and good for price paid

Service was excellent - a member of staff welcomed us, checked us in quickly, and kept our bags until the room was ready. When we got into our room later, the room was adequate - it was small but had some storage space, with a very small bathroom. It was hot but with a fan which helped. It was loud at night as it’s very central so there were quite a lot of people shouting and making lots of noise through the night. However on the flip side, it’s super central which is really convenient! We paid €10 each for breakfast which included coffee, juice, yoghurt, cereal, fruit, mini croissant and bread with butter and jam which I think is very reasonable. Overall, I’d recommend this for a brief city stay but I probably wouldn’t stay for a long holiday simply due to the noise

*Ad lies about the following feature: - Multilingual & Helpful staff (French only) - Concierge service - Luggage Storage - Breakfast - Tour/Ticket assistance and porter/bellhop The only positive thing I can say about this “hotel” is the location is good. I’ve had better hospitality falling asleep at a party than I did during my 4 night stay at “Hotel du theatre”. I had a very difficult time trying to check in, there was never any staff working (I only saw someone working twice the whole time), and my room was not cleaned once. The walls are paper thin, so I could hear everything going on in the room next to mine. When I got to my room, there was a “welcome letter” that asked guests to give high ratings. if a guest wanted to give a rating lower than 8-10, the hotel asked not to review their stay at all. I decided to use the washroom and was absolutely disgusted. There was still hair from the previous guest on the toilet, counter, in the shower and all over the bases of the wall. The bathroom counter was stained and had splatters of white paint on various spots, but worst of all, it was covered in a layer of dust / dirt. The corners connecting to the wall had hair and dust bunnies in them. It was disgusting, and as someone who is neurotypical, set me into a panic attack. I asked to change my room and was brought up a floor to a much smaller room that was only slightly cleaner than the last. The shower was broken and toilet seat was cracked. I gave up and made the most of it.

Room 220. It’s a pleasant room with two doors from the corridor to block sound of other guests. Inside, two opening windows, comfortable double bed and duvet, shower room and open hanging space. Ceiling fan for summer. No drinks tea coffee etc but there is a kitchen on the ground floor and breakfast area, unused but looks ok. Friendly staff. It’s needs some maintenance. Curtains need to be back on their hooks, standard light bulb needs changing, strip light needs fixing, wc and shower require bleach. Generally cleanliness is fine. Comfort, the ‘fence panels’ for a headboard were strange. Seating area with two corner chairs and a table; nice place to sit with a book. Saturday night was noisy till around 2am with the bar next door but Sunday was quiet the bars were closed. The bins are emptied during the night and deliveries arrive in the morning. It’s situated opposite the side of the Apple Store with plenty of shops bars restaurants and the st Catherine promenade at 1 min walk. Sadly, lots of homelessness and a safe location for drug use 5 mins away which causes locals issues. It was a good location so even with my comments I’d stay here again.
