Chapel Gone, but Hospitality Endures

We were married at Highlands Inn 60 years ago, thus the reason for this return. It was a most gracious and gratifying reunion. We left as excited and as happy as we did after our wedding in the chapel and reception in the room now known as Sunset Lounge. Accommodations were superb, eclipsed only by the hospitality of positively everyone with whom we dealt. Wish we had planned to stay longer.

8/10 Very good

This was our second time staying at the Highlands - first time was 20 years ago. Always wonderful ocean views. While they are maintaining the cliffside property the rooms are showing some wear. Paint and attention to detail inside the rooms would go a long way. Dinner at Pacific’s Edge was delightful. I absolutely LOVED having the fireplace in the room and the jetted tub also great after a long day of travel and walking. Sound proofing the ceilings is completely necessary if they ever remodel as we had terrible sleep and the noise from the room above was atrocious.

10/10 property. The front desk agents were super accommodating. I had flowers ordered to the hotel and they set everything up perfectly. I proposed to my now fiance. It couldn’t have gone any better. Will definitely be coming back once a year. Absolute amazing experience!

Beautiful place to visit if you want serenity. Older but very well kept (and updated). We had an ocean front suite. Superb views from every part of the suite. Nice, fully stocked kitchen added to the comfort. We really did not leave the property much. Got up in the morning and had coffee by the real wood burning fireplace (that they provide the wood and kindling for) and had drinks by that same fireplace in the cool evening. The restaurant (Pacific Edge) was super as well. Had dinner there both evenings we stayed. Get there at the right time and you can see the sunset as you dine. Can't say enough about the staff. Everyone from start to finish was friendly and helpful.

6/10 Good

Property is old and needs a remodel. Had a suite on third floor, expensive, and room was extremely loud. Beyond noisy even with a sound machine at night. Advertised fireplace does not have a gas line and wood does not burn. Couch stiff and very uncomfortable. Bed mattress cheap and squeaky, uncomfortable. Great location just old, dirty, desperately needs remodel. Not worth the price

Stay somewhere else!

Although the property is pretty, the entire staff was very rude from the start. Front desk couldn’t be bothered to do their job and give us a full check in leaving out vital info and a parking pass. They also didn’t text us that our room was ready when it was (past 4:00 check in time). The restaurant wouldn’t allow us to sit at the tables to wait for our room even though we purchased drinks. We were asked to wait in a boring room with just a couch and the other room had tv with football on. We also were not warned that our unit was up a steep hill and scraped the bottom of my normal height car. I also had to charge my car and was told that if I didn’t move it right away once done I would be charged $5 per hour. When I explained that it would be done at 3:00am they told me that’s my issue and it needs to be moved. All in all I wouldn’t stay here again, shame on Hyatt

Incredible hotel villas with breathtaking views! We loved all of the amenities, the campus, and 3 individual hot tubs sprinkled amongst the premises. The villa itself was very nice, I loved the tub! Beautiful, well kept grounds and very friendly helpful staff!
