Parking was available onsite with a grocery store across the street. It should be noted the property is not directly on the beach, it looks out on to the water but is a 5 min walk to it (if planning on coming with young kids).

The hotel was close access to everything. You could walk from the hotel to see a variety of things. For the ones you couldn’t, there are tours for further areas of interest. Beautiful staff and breakfast with access to the downtown shops and restaurants or can eat right in the Hotel.

Hotel Talisman is in a central location in Ponta Delgada. A free parking lot is nearby. Staff is responsive, pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a lovely space overlooking public flower garden. Pool was delightful. Mattresses were a bit hard but otherwise room was well-furnished and authentic. Only negatives were thin walls and the street noise from outdoors of cars screeching around a curve.

Great hotel. Wonderful breakfast. Polite and helpful staff. Perfect location - centro with all the cobblestone streets. Room extremely clean and linens/ beds wonderful! Gym is basic but works! Pool is nice. Gym/pool on top floor. Like all hotels in ponta Delgada - parking is a little difficult. To be fair - we didn’t use hotel provided parking. Would stay again in a NY sec!!

Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Experienced difficulties with link to our next stop on our vacation and Tanya ( front desk staff that evening) went out of her way to assist. She patiently helped navigate the booking link, then offered to call directly to clarify concerns as she was able to speak in the counties native language. Staff were all friendly and welcoming!

I enjoyed my stay at Talisman. The hotel is centrally located at the west end of the center and very close to the city gate and the waterfront. My room faced the inner part of the building. It was not scenic, but it was very quiet at night. I think it is a bit of a trade-off.

The room is large but unfortunately that Was the only good thing. This hotel badly needs a renovation. The bathroom is disgusting as is the room as a whole. Not at all a 4 star hotel

Quaint boutique hotel within walking distance to center city…. Right near gates, bell tower and waterfront. A very short walk to Antonio Borges botanical gardens (you must eat lunch at their restaurant- THE BEST). A little longer walk to Arruda Pineapple Plantation which was our favorite plantation. We flew overnight and arrived early morning and they allowed us to check in earlier, very much appreciated. Room was spacious by Europe standards. Minor issues to start, internet issue until the next day, safety box needed new batteries, no big deal. They do offer breakfast buffet (included) and it got progressively worse by the day. I feel they need to seriously improve it. We rented a car for the weekend and the hotel is affiliated with the agency connected to hotel. Several dinner options all pretty good and within walking distance. If I come back it would be summertime and would definitely stay more in the Furnas area…. It wa our favorite day by far, try not to miss the thermal spa there.

This is a great hotel in the centre of everything. I would class it as a boutique hotel with a lot of character including an open landing with seating area and library. I used the top pool area quite a bit in the mornings and it was generally quiet. The gym is there too and was being upgraded with new equipment when I was there. Breakfast was the usual tasty fair and a good way to set up the day. I also ate there twice in the evening and really enjoyed the food both times. The restaurant always seemed to be busy in the evenings and was part of the food tasting tour but I didn't need to book in advance. The staff were also great, from helping me fix my safe to generally looking after my needs and ensuring I was ok. As a slight aside, they do a couple of things differently to other hotels which I found refreshing as they cut out seemingly unnecessary admin. They didn't need my credit card on check in but I was still able to charge to the room. Also, pool towels were available anytime from reception with no need for deposits, etc and two drop off points for returning them. On a final point, I emailed them in the spring before my trip and asked if I could have a room with a balcony overlooking the public garden and they managed to sort that out for me. It was great leaving the doors/windows open and/or sitting on the balcony at different times during the day just to chill for a bit as the room sometimes got a little warm/humid.
