The Playa Nueva Romana is excellent in every respect. The host, Linette, was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the stay. I commend her good communication skills and though fullness. She kept in touch on daily basis to make sure we have everything that we needed at the residence. Kudos to her and her rental team.

Overall, the staff is super friendly, professional, and communicative. Especially the sales/rental team and the staff at the mini market. The property is very well located, private, and secure. It is located about a 1h drive from PUJ Airport and approximately the same distance from SDQ Airport. The apartment was very spacious and well decorated. However, some recommendations and points for improvement would be to enhance the maintenance of the apartment. The balcony doors didn’t latch; therefore, we were not able to lock them. Additionally, the air conditioning in the common areas of the apartment stopped working on the second night, and the sink was almost entirely clogged. The sales/rental team reported these issues to the maintenance team immediately. However, after the technician came to inspect and validate the report, he said he would send someone during the day to fix everything, but no one ever showed up. Additionally, the kids’ playground toys are broken and not safely secured. Only the slide can be used safely by children.

Very poor experience This property is a disappointment. There is fraud with the deposit, cockroaches, burnt pans, and a lack of necessary cooking utensils. The elevator leaked during rain, and there were frequent power outages. The surrounding area is not treated for cockroaches or mosquitoes. I do not recommend staying here.

Las atenciones de parte del personal del Del. De Rentas es 5 estrellas y algo más. El seguimiento desde antes del Check in hasta el Check out es fenomenal, todo el proceso es sumamente sencillo, no hay estrés, Cuando llegas a las instalaciones ya todo esta listo, ya todos te esperan, lo que hace la vida más fácil. El lugar ni hablar, muy bien higienizado, reglas de uso claras y fácil de seguir.

Good staff but the communication was not good. Waiting period to entrance to the apartment was too long and everyone were confused. To enjoy the lobby area in the market place outside you have to rent a vehicle to enjoy it and bring a lot of cash.

I have been a Hotels.com user for 10 years. I have never written a review before. This stay was challenging to say the least. Upon arrival, refrigerator, washer, dryer, hot water, bedroom television did not work. Kitchen sink backed up with each use. No water pressure. Roaches in the bathrooms. Maintenance fixed the hot water issues the next day. The fix for the refrigerator was to unplug it and plug it back in. This didn't fix the issue. We had to through away the groceries that we had purchased. They brought in another frig the following day & fixed the washer & dryer. I asked to manager to compensate us for the food that we had to through away with a day at the hotel buffet. No response. The jacuzzis' at the units are not usable. Lost power & water for hours one evening. The pool shown in the picture is not what is there. The restaurants and stores are not within walking distance you will need a vehicle. On the last morning before checkout. (3) housekeeping staff come into the unit. Count the plates, knives, cups, glasses & towels. Humiliating to say the least. The language barrier is huge, pictures & the Whatsapp are a must. You will need Netflix account to watch television. This resort was listed as 4.5 stars; it could be but not at this time. Shouldn't have to spend time throughout your vacation waiting for maintenance. If they take the time to count the items in the kitchen, they should also make sure that everything is functional.

5 of us stayed for 9 days. The apartment was very clean. I checked with a black light. Sheets and all common surfaces were spotless upon arrival. Lots of security, including gated access, cameras, and plenty of security guards. All were pleasant to speak with, and helpful. Linette was our property contact, and did a great job with getting us into the apartment even though we were delayed and it was late. She also provided all the information we needed. Giving us all contact information for all amenities nearby. The beach restaurant had good food, and the staff seemed to never rest. The apartment has a full kitchen, and groceries nearby. The pools, and beach are beautiful. Having a car would be nice, but rentals are not guaranteed even when reserved. We ended up having to taxi everywhere, and rented a golf cart to get around the compound as it’s very large. Cost a double a rental car, but the driver took us to voice places to eat, and shop. All in all it was an 8/10 (which is a great rating for me).

Room was very old nothing like pictures portraits. Many issues regarding unit. We arrived after dark and the lights in the entire 3 story building hallway did not work. We’re forced to use our cell phone flashlights to make our way to our second story condo. Reported this to management and nothing was fixed our entire stay there. The elevator smelled so bad like mold we had to use the stairs all the time. The dishwasher did not work in our unit. The washing machine the one time I used it flooded the floor and I almost fell and hurt myself when discovering this when entering the laundry room. There were no face clothes provided to shower with or clean your face only towels and hand towels. The beach was nice and quiet and the pool was the same but there was only one restaurant on the entire resort and one small bistro with no other options near by even outside the facilities. None of the staff were well versed in English including at the restaurant so the language barrier was extremely difficult. No excursions close by only one in the caves. Was not a great location. Would not stay here again.
