Hotel in need of refurbishment, appears to be half abandoned, no personality. Room basic, last residents towels left in bathroom, mirror smeared. Bed was two single mattresses pushed together to make a double with ridge felt in middle. Toilet flush broken and kept filling. A real shame as the area hotel is in is a very advantages spot for Stratford Leamington And area

Great place

I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay again. Only thing I would say is that the carpet wasn’t hoovered but honestly it wasn’t the biggest deal and I just didn’t walk around barefoot.

The hotel did not provide what we booked which was a three person room and refused to put an extra bed in with the double even with proof of our booking requirements Mother and teenagers had to share double bed !! Dreadful service

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Absolutely disgusting hotel. If we weren’t tied for the night we would have been away! Everything close by was booked. 3 rooms we went in to get one partially ok! The bed was the worst bed I think I have ever lay on! The cleanliness was vile. Hairs in bath! The dust was an inch thick! It’s the worst place I have ever had to stay. After checking in there was no way we were going to eat there so we ventured into Kenilworth

The property has just been taken over and the staff are keen to make sure that everything is ok and to help you get the most out of your stay, some of the furniture looked a little dated but rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, Albert on the desk was super helpful and professional

Just OK

This Hotel was OK, that’s all I can say. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a bit tired. The bed consisted of 2 singles pushed together but the duvet was from a smaller bed so did not fit. Bathroom sink did not have a plug and bath surface was peeling The breakfast was just ok

It is not that bad as described in the previous review. The hotel is quite old and furniture are old, but the room is big and clean. TV/Shower is working properly which is good. There is air con. The bathroom has been refurbished. So everything functions properly. Restaurant is open with varieties, although I didn’t try.

ARCHERY INDOOR NATIONALS STAY

When arrived no one at reception (we arrived at around 4.30) had to hunt for someone. Room on first inspection was nice but dust in places, window would shut properly (hubby had to use curtain tie back to stop it opening). Bathroom had a seweage smell to it so had to keep door shut. No plug in the sink and shower didnt have much pressure and wouldnt stay in position. Only got 2 sets of towels for 3 people as was in family room. The tea coffee facilities were rather poor and there was no dairy alternative available at breakfast. Breakfast was a but overpriced for what you got especially the continental which was one price even if you just wanted some cereal. But would stay again as was in a great location for Stoneleigh park and had a great night sleep.

At one time I would think this Hotel was spot on. It appeared to be lacking in small things. No draft beers, no atmosphere. We asked for a twin room, the only one available was on the 3rd floor, no lift, we are disabled and would not manage to cart luggage up 3 floors, ALBERT was VERY helpful, he arranged for a ground floor room to be available. The room had the largest bed we had ever seen, great, the room had all you needed for a short stay except storage only one bed side cabinet, small wardrobe otherwise clean and tidy. The menu was rather limited but good quality. A lounge area to sit and chat with other folks would have been nice. It would appear that some renovation was on going. Basically needs more work and to develop an identity.

Shocking- Never again

Disappointing Stay at Riverside Hotel, Kenilworth — Room 228 (23rd to 26th June) I stayed at the Riverside Hotel in Kenilworth between 23rd and 26th June 2025, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. To begin with, room 228 lacked a desk or table, making it impossible to carry out any work comfortably. For a hotel that claims to accommodate business travellers, this is a basic and expected amenity that was noticeably absent. On the first morning, the fire alarm began sounding at 6:30am and continued every two minutes for a prolonged period. This was incredibly disruptive and completely ruined any chance of a restful start to the day. The main light in the room wasn’t working, meaning the room remained dimly lit throughout the stay — an issue that should have been identified and rectified prior to check-in. Dinner was also a disappointment. I ordered the lamb curry, which, although it had decent flavour, only included six small pieces of meat. For the price charged, this felt stingy and poor value. Incredibly, over the entire four-day, three-night stay, the room was supplied with just one 20ml bottle of bath/shower gel — which is frankly ridiculous for a stay of that length. It gives the impression of cost-cutting at the expense of basic guest comfort. To make matters worse, from the second day onward, my room key stopped working, requiring repeated walks back to reception to have it reset. This was an unnecessary and frustrating inconvenience.

Average stay

Stayed for 1 night, as a family, for a wedding in Warwick, got an uber to the Saxon mill which was £10 each way so that wasn't too bad. On arrival at the hotel it was obvious that building work was going on by the appearance of the outside, whilst we were there there was no noise or signs of builders. Entered reception, there was no staff about and after a while we had to go and find someone, whom didnt really seem to know what she was doing. We'd booked an executive room for 3 people, which was quite small and there was only 1 bed ready so we had to go back to reception to get an extra bed brought in. Beds were comfy though, but only had 1 pillow each. The bar area was okay, although drinks prices were quite expensive, it could have done with some comfy sofas in there though instead of hard chairs and tabes. Also some outside furniture to sit outside in the sun. Breakfast price was 6.99 for a continental, this consisted of cereal, toast, croissants, yogurt and fruit ,with tea or coffee. Or you could have a cooked breakfast for 12.99 each. Staff were very few , only saw 3 staff who ran the bar, reception and restaurant. The young guy was chatty and friendly. All in all it was average ,dont know if I would stay again though.

Albert on reception was extremely helpful, not just checking me in, but helping get into my room as I couldn't get my key to work not once but on two different occasions, he also sourced a hair dryer for me, which I expected to be in the room considering it was an executive room. The staff were welcoming in the restaurant at dinner and at breakfast

2/10 Poor

Disappointing stay, room was not cleaned properly

I arrived around midnight to a freezing cold room (air con had been on), after needing to go back to reception because the card didn’t work. As I went to use the bathroom I found a dirty pair of underwear hanging on the back of the door. Back to reception, they came to retrieve the item. I was promised a partial refund but this never materialised. Asked again at check out and was told the manager would be in touch but nothing so far

I’d come back.

Stayed for one night as we were attending a concert at nearby Warwick. We arrived before our check-in time, but after a coffee we were allowed access to the room early. The room was lovely and clean with crisp white sheets and fluffy white towels. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but that’s personal preference. The bathroom was a little dated, but perfectly clean, although it had no bin in it. Also there was no hairdryer in the room, but possibly could have been provided if asked for. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. A very acceptable place to stay and I would recommend if you just need to basics of somewhere clean to lay your head with no fancy extras.
