Outstanding, above and beyond...

This little hotel was even more beautiful than I was expecting. And the staff, just wow! This boutique hotel, and the larger, gorgeous Santa Clara, are linked. They are one block from each other, and the stroll is so dreamy. The Santa Clara shares the gorgeous pool, the fitness center, room service and breakfast with the boutique Bovedas hotel. We got the Family Suite: 2 Bedrooms, Ocean View. The doors and windows to the balcony were soundproof, so we didn’t really hear any traffic. We LOVED this room! Downstairs was a kitchen, living room, queen bedroom/bathroom combo. Very spacious. The beds/bedding were very comfortable. There were fresh flowers waiting for us. Hardwood floors dressed the stairs and the loft. There was a sitting room with a king size bed and a 2nd bathroom with separate sink. With tapestries on the walls, and a shiplap style ceiling, it was beautifully designed. The AC worked very well. No humidity. We loved how it smelled in the rooms. So fresh. What made this hotel so exceptional was the staff. Eric, Cristian, Adris, Ronal, Jose were outstanding. They helped us with anything we needed: excursions, taxi, carriage ride, dinner reservations. One night, they invited us to a private party at the Santa Clara with drinks and apps. We also got to explore the history of the grand hotel. They even had a birthday celebration waiting for me when I came back from a day of sightseeing. They truly understand not just customer service but customer experience.

Stunning and Fun for the Whole Family

This is one of the best breakfast in the world. A combination of local food with fresh french pastries, local juices and very diverse and delicious fruit collection. The setting in the old city and the service is spectacular snd very friendly. The duplex rooms were a bit dusty given the high ceilings. I think they can easily fix this. We will definitely come back.

It’s a nice hotel. The picture is misleading as you are staying at the hotel but all amenities like breakfast, gym, pool and restaurant are all at the main property, Santa Clara. This was fine as it is only 1 min away from Bovedas. I like both property , very friendly staff, good service.

This place tries to scam you

This place is nice enough if you get the right room. Or if you just get the room you booked. We booked the large family suite with two beds a sofa bed and two bathrooms on the top floor with a view of the ocean. It says so on the confirmation. We Never saw it. When we checked in the were polite and welcoming and escorted us to the worst room on the basement level and said ‘enjoy your stay’. So obviously we walked right back to reception and after some time and a manager they said oh, we are over booked. Wait…now that I’ve said something you admit you knew you gave me not only the wrong room but made no mention of the shift until the bellman took us to our room. Furious. So they could only give us two different rooms for the first night then moved us to the ‘correct room the next day, after 3pm’. Ok we were tired from traveling and we had a morning planned so settled but was promised a credit for the inferior room and the clearly different price not to mention the hassle and con game we were subjected to. Ok. So next day. ‘The room is ready’ we get our keys and we go check it out. A better room. Great view. Two bathrooms. But still only one bed and a sofa bed. It’s not what we reserves or paid for ! They were just so inconsiderate

The location overlooking the historic Walls and the Caribbean Sea and the barrio San Diego area is beautiful. The staff was incredibly helpful and allowed early check-in… the customer service was above and beyond.. the restaurant was excellent in the room was huge with a large balcony..Cristian and Luis were very helpful at all times. I stayed at three other hotels in Cartagena in the last three months and this hotel was the best compared to the Hyatt Regency in Boca grande and the Bastion Luxury hotel in Candalaria area.

This property is beautiful. Extremely clean!!!! I loved my stay here. It is very walkable, but not so close to the action that you are annoyed by noise. The breakfast is amazing. I am EXTREMELY picky, and I loved this place. My only dislike is that in the loft, upstairs is hot at night.
