More like a B&B as only breakfast is served, but there is a reception bar if you want a simple drink and a fridge with sodas etc for purchase. Breakfast was good and bread was fresh. The basement parking is small and entry/exit very narrow and bent so would recommend smaller car. Cost was NOK200 per day payable to third party parking company. The bed was comfy and good smaller bathroom with shower. The room could use some better lighting. Just a couple small lamps available. There was a kettle and paper cups. Very simplistic. I stayed two nights and although the hotel description says daily cleaning, my room was not cleaned while I was there. The hotel is impersonal but ok for a stay where you only need to sleep. Locationwise there is next to nothing interesting or useful the first few blocks, but available in walking distance. Quite close to bus station.

We enjoyed our one night stay at Scandic Hotel in Haugesund. Staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was as expected and bed comfortable. Room was quiet. Breakfast was excellent! Such a variety and many fresh options! The area of town was plain, and for some reason there are multiple Thai massage businesses nearby, but easy to walk to the waterside and main shopping street. Overall, would recommend for an economical and pleasant stay.

When we arrive at the rooms, one of the rooms were a disability room and the best too soft and the bedlinnen and towels had a smell to them! When we came to the other room, it smelt more like spices and a man’s perfume so when I washed my hands and dried my hands, I had the smells on my hands and was also on the bed linnen. It wasn’t possible to wash your hair in the shower, because the water pressure was so low so you wouldn’t get out your shampoo from your hair. And in the morning we wanted to buy some breakfast, we knew the price was 125 kr online, but when we wanted to buy the breakfast, it cost 305 kr. The man at check in the evening before, didn’t ask us or tell us that if we wanted breakfast, it was better to buy it online if not, it would cost a lot more. So all in all, we would not recommend this hotel and will not stay there again the next time we are in Haugesund.

No fridge in the room and lied about it

There was no fridge in the bedroom so was unable to store the milk that I had just bought from the fridge. I asked reception and he told me all fridges had been removed. I was travelling for business with 5 other people who ALL had fridges in their rooms. There was no milk cartons of milk so I was unable to have a cup of tea on the bedroom. Not much to ask for! And do t appreciate being lied to. I will not been staying here again. I will stay in alternative accommodation on my regular trips to Norway.
