Busy, popular pub. Easter weekend just drawing to a close, had been very busy, food was running out. Staff were still friendly and happy. Location and garden were great (weather was good!) beer was excellent.

A very lovely place for an overnight stay, basic but has all the facilities for a B&B standard. Pub is pretty , traditional inside, twinkle lights. Lovely pie for lunch reasonable prices. Staff we ok, not over friendly neither rude so ok . Our bedroom was cold, duvet not that thick so I was shivering. The owner or manager said the next day that they previous people must have turned the heating off, but surely the cleaner should check this before next people arrive. That all said, I would stay again and for £49.50 total for the night, you can't complain ! I would just check the heater next time 😃

The accommodation was compact & OK. The room is above the function room which has events on in an evening, on our stay there was a function with loud music & heavy base that stopped at 11pm. We were not told of the function & would have returned back later if had known. The kitchen extracter fan came on at 8am which disruppted our sleep. The staff & food were excellent

Beautiful location right on the river bank. We had 2 nights at this amazing hotel. Our room was large, clean and extremely comfortable. The was a great choice for breakfast. The location is stunning with a large beer garden. The staff are friendly and helpful. They arranged a 6 seater taxi for us into St Ives which is a beautiful town which happened to have a jazz an and blues festival and a food market. The menu offers a good choice of food in this historic pub. We will definitely be retuning. Thank you Ben and the team

Needs revamp
The building is lovely, bar is nice and food ok but not much choice. Room decor very tired, chunks of plaster falling off. Bathroom dates and damp smell, not sure how often it’s cleaned as small piece of soap in shower been there for ages.

Lovely setting. Rooms tired, horrible smell around stairs to bedroom. Very noisy fan noise for a while, may have been above kitchen? Bed comfortable, linen and towels professionally laundered. Just needed a bit of an update.

If i start with the positive, I received a friendly welcome.
I was shown to where the rooms are, and thefirst thing that hit me was the smell. Not a pleasant welcome at all. I was directed to my room and after navigating the narrow, creaky stairs and a creaky landing i arrived at my room.
It was not only freezing because i think the window had been left open to manage the smell, but it was also underwhelming, especially given the price of the room.
The creaky floor theme continued, unable to move anywhere in the room without making a racket. The bathroom was tiny, filthy, and the shower had obviously not been cleaned.
Having squeezed past the end of the bed to close the window and reach the one plug socket near the bed, I found a collection of dead flies between the window and the fly screen (of sorts). Though I'm not from the area, I didn't think there were that many flies around at this time of year.
The room comes equipped with a decent ironing board with a good, padded cover (a rarity in most hotels I've stayed at over the years) and a tiny travel iron which offers heat but no steam.
The bed, feeling damp from the cold, was quite comfortable but the pillows were flimsy and lumpy.
With paper thin walls you can hear all tvs in other rooms, people moving about and conversations. So, after a very poor nights sleep I was woken by what sounded like a generator/vent at 430am and unable to get back to sleep.
This is a very tired looking inn. Over priced, and very basic.

As an American, I don't get to have the pub experience. Everything - from the building to the food to the room to the surroundings to the staff - was absolutely charming. It was a wonderful experience.

In a great setting but quite remote. Staff helpful. Let down by quite tired rooms considering the price for a one night stay. Food good but continental breakfast very basic…simply cereal and juice / hot drink.

Great staff and pub. Rooms are very tired and require some TLC to bring up to spec. Walls of the rooms are not exactly sound proofed so expect to hear your neighbour.
Pleasant food and good menu to choose from.

Stay at the Ferry Boat Inn
Overall the hotel met our needs, however:
- we arrived at around 7.30pm to be told the restaurant was closed for refurb. Tbh we can live with that but it would have been nice to know in advance.
- On going to the room, it hadn't been remade from the previous visitor. This was corrected by the person checking us in, whilst we were out for a meal.
Non of the above would stop us visiting again as it is a lovely old place in a lovely location.

It was fine, relatively clean, a bit dated and the breakfast fruit was a bit whithered. No bedside light but the fan was useful.

Room was smaller than expected but clean and bed was comfortable, shower was blocked so i could only have a very quick shower before water level became too high.
Food in the pub was terrible, came to my table in 10 minutes so obviously frozen produce microwaved.
