Sun Hotel

The staff Sean, Monika and Erin were exceptional. They were friendly, personable, accommodating, attentive and polite. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel menu had a good variety and the food was excellent. It was a great place to stay!

Lovely couple of days in Hitchin

We had a twin room which was not in the main building. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and the bathroom was very nice. Everything you would want. We didn't eat in the pub or have breakfast as we were going to an early afternoon event which was serving food. We did have a drink and were surprised at the price of the drinks. They were very reasonable. There was a Wetherspoons next door so maybe that was due to the competition. We were right in the centre of Hitchin, which is a lovely place. Some very nice shops and really interesting. We were there for 2 days and had a very enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

This is an old building and has some limitations on what it can do to improve. Rooms and corridors are in need of a refurb. Shower cubicle was tiny. Staff were good and the check in person on reception was very friendly and knowledgeable. Public areas nice and in a good location.

Hitchin weekend

Had very comfortable and affordable stay whilst visiting family in Hitchin. Would definitely consider returning. All staff were very helpful. Left a couple of items in the room on leaving and these were cheerfully found and kept on reception for pick up.

We had hardly any sleep the door constantly being open and closed you can here the staff talking in the foyer from the bedroom. We had staff coming in early hours setting up for breakfast banging doors it was the worst nights sleep i have ever had. Staff were lovely but awful stay i wouldnt stay again if i had to stay in the main building.

Hotel is ideally located, quality and overall room condition is well below average standards. Shower regulater didn't work, although a late booking, the shower was larger than shower space the fixtures were dated, although some upgrading in some places ongoing. Not good for anyone with a disability, no ground floor rooms, no lift, too many steps up and down, even a high step up to the bathroom. No other room available.

Room was clean and had space. However wall paper peeling off walls. Marks on walls and doors. Bed uncomfortable to sleep on. Bathroom very moist with condensation everywhere. Rooms noisy above and adjacent. Reception helpful and friendly. Dont eat at Green King pub better food available at a cheaper price next door in Wetherspoons.

Room was quite tired and in need of an upgrade. Rooms small but to be expected for the age of the building. Plumbing needs attention as the pipe vibration at 0630 from another room showering at stupid a clock was a not needed wake up call.

Old doesn't mean neglect!

I get it, it is an old building. However, neglect with door to the room, bad fitting of shower head fixture and no shower gel, and a badly maintained window resulted in a less than satisfactory stay. Again, I realise the building is old but that should be a reason to make sure everything within the room is checked and serviceable
