10/10 Exceptional

Had a really enjoyable stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Spalding. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and full of character, and the location right in the town centre was perfect. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which made the whole experience even better. The breakfast was very nice, and there is a lovely pub atmosphere downstairs. Great value for money and a genuinely warm, family-run feel. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Spalding.

Hotel is very central, clean and staff are very friendly. No parking but there is well priced local parking nearby. Hotel is pet friendly but you have to eat in the bar if you have a dog (which was not a problem at all).

Checked in easily on Saturday afternoon. And had a drink in the bar with our dogs. Rooms comfortable, but very warm - equipped with fans. Breakfast very basic (£5) but sufficient for me. Very friendly, attentive staff. Great place - allowing dogs to stay for free. Would definitely stay again.

Clean room, looks newly refurbished, comfortable bed, air con was fantastic during a heatwave. Friendly staff, quick check in, good breakfast. Best hotel room out of a few I've tried in this area. Despite being above a pub was very quiet.

Clean, compact room with everything needed for a short stay. Air conditioning was a bonus as the weather was very warm. Plenty of hot water

Good twin room which was very spacious. Good facilities including tea and coffee. Very good value for money. Right in centre of Spalding so walkable to all shops and other bars and eateries. The only negatives for me were the room was quite hot but the window couldn’t be opened and the bed was a bit in the hard side for me - but that’s down to my personal choice. Otherwise all good.

6/10 Good

This is a classic British pub which mainly caters for locals but also has guests but I have to say the staff are particularly friendly. The bar is good fun, relaxing and there’s plenty of conversation and gossip etc. the rooms upstairs are general ok, really good beds and clean enough but just a little bit dated and needing attention. Not a deal breaker, perfect for my working week but as a couple or family you might be a tad disappointed. I do like the breakfast idea of ordering the. Night before and also having a ‘to go’ option also again perfect for workers. Parking is fine in a nearby car park just round the corner so convenient and it’s cheap overnight.

We stayed here for 7 nights as it was close to my mother's for visiting. Hotel is very clean and spells great. Every morning they were doing a through cleaning of the pub area, stairs and rooms. It has recently been remodeled so the rooms had updated sockets for your phone charges. It was warm - no AC here and also good to know, no lift. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night. Kitchen staff and bar staff were all very friendly! It siad 2 stars on Expedia but I'd definitely say it was at least a 3*.

4/10 Fair

Worst sleep ever. Rock hard beds and pillows, the room we stayed in was on the second floor (4 flights of stairs, no lift) and the room was on a slant, the whole place seemed uneven. The worst part though was the other clientele - loud, noisy and banging until well into the early hours, we didn’t get to sleep until 3am after trying and failing to contact the emergency phone line which told us to leave a message and they would respond within 24 hrs - good job it wasn’t an emergency like being locked out! Eventually we had to knock on the door of the person making all the noise and ask them to be quiet, not something you should have to do but the only way we could get some peace. Would avoid this place like the plague.

Centrally Located

Great little hotel above an English Pub. Was relatively quiet after the pub closed. Great central location, friendly staff, wonderful food. No air conditioning but they did provide a couple of fans and we kept the window open so that cooled the room well enough. The beds were a bit on the firm side but overall was a great room.
