We enjoyed our stay peaceful property. Loved the kitchen space and the convenience of local shopping to prepare our last supper in San Marcos . The host who greeted us was lovely and made us feel welcome. The shower was great hot water which was amazing ! Communication prior and during our stay was great thank you !

Visitors must be aware of the steep, difficult climb from the main road. Fit folx in their 20s and 30s won't be too fussed, but we're pretty fit for our 50s and it was a real effort. Handrails leading up to the yurts would make an excellent safety addition.
We stayed in the top yurt (#4) and the views are tremendous and worth the big climb. We requested breakfast delivery in the am and it arrived on time! Delicious.
Recommend this relatively new destination!

The view from the yurt was quite an experience. It was also pretty cold at night, hot during the day if you don't use the shades/sides properly--or even if you do. The structure itself was pretty makeshift, and was not airtight/bug tight like a traditional yurt would be. Also the bed was like a punishment. It could really use a foam pad on top and at least one more of the sad, flat pillows per person. Why skimp on those? This experience is spartan enough. Also: bring earplugs and perhaps a noise machine, the barking dogs at night are pretty disruptive. The property did have hot water in the showers, near the pit toilets (only 2 toilets for a place with 12 person capacity). These were a healthy distance from all of the accommodations and you'll need to light your own way after 10pm. Alice, the host was very pleasant and made sure we had a nice, cheap breakfast provided each day. There is also a functional kitchen on site and massages on offer. If you have any mobility issues, this place is a real struggle. At least 120 steps from the street to our yurt, with a six story climb. Property is likely muddy during rainy season, there was very little by way of erosion control at present. It is a newer property, so I'm hopeful they'll continue to improve. Quick tuk-tuk ride to "downtown" and there is parking on site. Very little parking in San Marcos though, other than the big church.

The property is well maintained, with that bing said the ad on the website locks the proper description of the premises (hotel)
On the description it was not specified the fact that you have to be in some type of physical shape in order to clim to you space. A proper description should be place instead. I.e someone above 65 years of age not in great or excellent shave will NOT be able to make the climb, also something as simple as sealing gaps between the tent and the frame would eliminate the access of spiders and scorpions it doesn’t require much not physically north financially to fix this issue.

Located about 1.5 miles away from the expat-ified town of San Marcos. A Tuk Tuk ride will cost you $11.50 each way (80Q).
Accommodation is a secluded yurt-style tent on a deck with a camp sink and composting toilet. The communal shower is 100 yards away, not in the tent as advertised on Expedia.
The 200-step climb up the volcano is a tough haul for luggage. Their porter assists.
Garbage littered the property within 75 ft of our tent.
Very noisy being on the main road and with construction nearby.
Views of the lake were obstructed by trees.
Not a 1-minute walk off the lake as described, but rather 15 minutes down the steep, carved steps and then guessing which unmarked gate on the other side of the road belongs to the hotel.
There are 4 screened-in windows in the tent but only 2 (on the same side) are allowed to open. Management claimed the other 2 could not be opened because that’s how the tent is made. In reality, they simply failed to attach the rigging, so there was no cross breeze, or fan for that matter, to circulate air in the tent.
Security is a locking wood door… attached to a tent held to steel posts by sleeves and velcro. There's no room safe and the lockable drawers in the bed frame are easily accessible simply by lifting the mattress.
On the positive side, the kitchen was fantastic, the sheets soft, the furniture cute and comfortable, and there’s Wi-Fi & electricity in the tent.
For us it was a disillusioning and overpriced glamping experience.
